Zhang Guotao heard about the death of Chairman Mao in his later years, and he said ten words in Canada!

Zhang Guotao is one of the founders of the Chinese Communist Party and one of the early leaders of the Chinese Communist Party. During the Long March, Zhang Guotao, as the main leader of the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army, broke up at the critical juncture of the life and death of the Chinese Communist Party and established a separate "central." Later, after being marginalized, he broke with the party and turned to Chiang Kai-shek. After the Kuomintang suffered a crushing defeat on the mainland, Zhang Guotao followed the Kuomintang to Taiwan and lived in Canada in his later years. Hearing the news of Chairman Mao's death, he said "ten words."

Zhang Guotao was born on November 26, 1897, a native of Pingxiang County, Jiangxi Province. He has attended a private school since he was a child and is an educated person. He was admitted to Peking University in 1916, participated in the May Fourth Movement during the school, served as the chairman of the Beijing Federation of Students, and was one of Beijing student leaders.

Later, Zhang Guotao followed Li Dazhao to participate in the activities of the Beijing communist group, participated in the founding of the Chinese Communist Party, and was the representative of the first congress of the Chinese Communist Party. Later, he served as the head of the Central Organization Department and participated in leading the February 7th strike.

After the end of the Long March, Zhang Guotao was criticized for a long time, which made him betray the Communist Party. In April 1938, Zhang Guotao took the opportunity of paying homage to the Huangdi Mausoleum to escape from the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Area and joined the Kuomintang. He was subsequently expelled from the Chinese Communist Party.

Zhang Guotao later joined the army to engage in anti-communist spy activities and staged a farce of "the founder of the CCP opposes the CCP". Because of the loss of use value, he was gradually marginalized by Chiang Kai-shek. In 1948, Zhang Guotao and his family moved to Taipei City, later to Hong Kong, and to Canada in 1968.

On September 9, 1976, the death of Chairman Mao, the great leader of the Chinese people, in Beijing attracted the attention of the people of the world. Major world news agencies including Reuters, Associated Press and AFP reported the news of Chairman Mao’s death. As a former opponent, Zhang Guotao's response is eye-catching.

After the news of Chairman Mao's death reached Canada, when Zhang Guotao, the former leader of the Communist Party of China who lived in Toronto, was asked how to judge his opponents in the past, he only said ten words indifferently: Our time has passed. Obviously, Zhang Guotao was very plain about the death of Chairman Mao.Regarding the death of such a great man who is of concern to the whole world, he just lamented the changes of the times, and only had his silent respect for Chairman Mao. Zhang Guotao died in Canada on December 3, 1979, at the age of 82.
