PTE is an emerging English test in recent years. It is one of the six major safety English proficiency tests (SELTs) accepted by the UK. The test scores can be used to apply for various types of immigration and study abroad in Australia and the UK. The acceptance of PTE scores on a global scale is also increasing.
IELTS and PTE mainly test four items of English listening, speaking, reading and writing. However, in addition to the results of listening, speaking, reading and writing in the PTE transcript, they also show the results of six abilities of grammar, fluency, pronunciation, spelling, vocabulary and written writing.

Overall, PTE is more suitable for candidates who are eager to get results, and is more suitable for students with good listening and reading. If candidates with excellent speaking and writing in IELTS, they can choose IELTS. In addition, for those who want to score full or high scores, choosing PTE short-term assault may be more effective.
For common Australian immigration visa categories, for Australian skilled immigration applicants, they need 4 IELTS scores or get the same level of scores in the Australian immigration-accredited exam.
When scoring the Australian skilled immigration EOI, IELTS scores can get an extra 10 EOI bonus points, and IELTS scores can get 20 EOI bonus points, so for Australian skilled immigration applicants, the higher the IELTS score, the better.
For Australian employer-guaranteed immigration applicants usually need to reach the English level of 5-6 points in IELTS, among which the requirements for 482 visas are IELTS 4 5 points, and the requirements for 186 and 494 visas are IELTS 4 6 points.
In the Australian business investment immigration 88 visa category, except for 188E, 4 6 points for IELTS, there is no mandatory English requirement. However, because the 188A and 188B visas involve EOI scoring, if you can reach 4 5 points for IELTS, you will get 5 points when you score.
