On October 29, 2022, the parent class of Weifang Xinhua Middle School was opened again. This parent class is divided into two themes. The first part is the lecture "The Future is Coming" brought by Teacher Liu Qiankang of the Career Tutoring Center, and the second part is taught by Teacher Liu Guijuan, a full-time mental health teacher at the school, "How to effectively communicate with adolescent children."
Principal Zhang Xuemei participated in the parent class throughout the whole process and delivered a speech, expressing her expectations for her children and her parents’ messages, as well as her emphasis on the parent class.
Teacher Liu Xikang's lecture focused on the future and had a forward-looking vision, telling the rapid changes of the times. Parents also need to keep pace with the times, study hard with their children, grow together, support their children to discover themselves, confirm their dreams in the future, and be fully prepared for the future. lecture, parents actively participated and expressed their thoughts and confusions.
Next, Teacher Liu Guijuan told parents how to communicate effectively with adolescent children through vivid cases. Parents not only reason, criticize, and accuse their children, but also need to create a democratic, respectful, harmonious and quiet atmosphere, and speak less and listen more to their children’s voices. Let children feel respected. Only then can children truly express their thoughts to their parents.
In addition, Teacher Liu called on parents not to provide physical support to their children, but also to provide psychological support to their children and care more about their children's mental health. After the lecture at
