First met Professor Wang Zhiguang. He participated in the in-depth training of outstanding primary school outstanding principals in Jilin Province National Training Program (2022) organized by Northeast Normal University as a principal. The training courses of Dongshi have always been very popular among principals. This course was also arranged scientifically and precisely. The content of the lectures of each tutor was carefully prepared. And I, like the gluttonous snake in the online game, wandering in the knowledge lineup of experts and professors across the country, enjoying a feast of gluttons. Professor Wang’s special lecture was arranged on the morning of September 22, with the theme of “High Performance Team Building and Improving Execution”, and this learning content is exactly what I am looking forward to.
Class teacher Sun Heyang introduced Professor Wang’s identity very comprehensively. What attracted me the most was the title of “Teacher on the Tip of the Tongue”. Sure enough, the lecture began, and the speech was shocking and golden sentences came out frequently. Many real problems in educational management practice have been revealed, and after Professor Wang’s lecture, he suddenly realized it. In the past, I had to take a lot of notes during the class, but this time, I was immersed in this wonderful lecture, reluctant to stop and excerpt, and felt very sorry for worrying about missing an important sentence. This lecture lasted for three hours. Professor Wang always smiled and went out of the process. He analyzed and told the teachings of educational management in detail, which was deeply impressed by it. Professor Wang’s management ideas and strategies provide an effective operating blueprint for front-line principals to manage schools.
1. One role: Be a smart manager
Wisdom is better than intelligence. In my opinion, Professor Wang is the wise man among the principals, who is adding "wisdom" to us. There is a saying in : "The bystanders are clear, and the institution is confused." This is because they are out of the way, the bystanders' hearts are naturally quiet and they can see more clearly; but the institution is different. The more confused the hearts are, the more likely they are to be confused. They can't understand what they can understand. Professor Wang once said that he is a grassroots and understands the truth at the grassroots level, so he likes to tell the truth, take practical measures, and seek practical results. He believes that as a principal, you must be ahead of others in everything, be superior to others, have advantages, think through the problems, find effective solutions, and implement correct strategies, so that you can be a wise manager.
Education is an ideal career, but it needs to be pragmatic. The principal's decision can determine the overall situation, but it is difficult to make a single hand. Only when middle-level cadres cooperate to implement it can achieve great things. Principals must avoid misalignment in their work. If leaders pay too much attention to details, it will easily lead to mediocrity and lose their strategic height.
