is a student of span8span . When I was in high school, I liked to write short stories and wanted to convey them visually, so I began to experiment with shooting and learning to edit. After going to college, editing the short stories I shot through video software has become my greatest pleasure, and it was at that time that I decided to enter this field. It is because this school provides a teaching culture that blends with other subjects. I have always wanted to experience the working procedures of each department, hoping to improve my skills in film creation in all aspects, not just limited to the editing field. When I apply some new methods to editing and see the movie story on the screen become more contagious, I feel very fulfilled.
Last year, I edited a documentary "Bird without Wings", which successfully entered the final of the Student Academy. In the process of editing this movie, I found this job more and more challenging, and realized that in the editing room, non-script movies can provide more.
During this journey, our team analyzes movies together, watches daily newspapers and interviews, and exchanges narrative and visual perspectives with our professors and colleagues. "The Bird Without Wings" performed very well at the film festival. I am very proud to be a member of the post-production team, and I am very grateful to the school for providing these valuable learning opportunities.
At the Dodge Film Academy, everyone will feel very fulfilled and full of passion every day. We have several professional courses every day. One of my favorite courses is narrative strategy, which can help me better Understand the inner logic of the story and broaden your editing ideas. In addition, I also explored independent films and analyzed films based on their narrative and visual significance.

I grew up in a creative environment to grow up,I like watching movies and always dream of making my own movies when I grow up. There is no doubt that film is a kind of magical art, it can take you into another world, expand your horizons and imagination. One of my favorite sayings is, "Life is too short for all the lives I have dreamed of living." I spent a lot of time thinking about what life would be like from the perspective of others, to be able to enter their minds and through their See life with eyes. I think that, for now, film is one of the closest ways I have the opportunity to do this, and there are still many perspectives to experience in this medium.
When I visited the Dodge Film Academy for the first time, I was attracted by its friendly environment. I really like everyone here, including students and professors. The school is very close to Los Angeles, but away from the hustle and bustle, in a quieter Orange County. The antique shops around are very cute, it's nice to walk around them, they have everything I need. I like that Dodge allows us to have more autonomy in learning. The school supports our vision and goals instead of trying to include us in any cookie-cutter curriculum. The school’s educational model allows everyone to be deeply immersed in film studies and gives us a lot of practical experience. I like the space for cooperation here, and I also like to learn from professors with rich industry experience.
During my school, I did several very meaningful film projects. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with so many amazing filmmakers, and I hope to be able to work with them in the future. Recently, I just finished my thesis film, which was the most challenging and valuable film during my studies at Dodge Film Academy. We were preparing to shoot this movie at the most serious stage of the new crown epidemic. We are one of the first films to enter the production stage. There is no precedent. In order to ensure safety, we must solve several challenges that we have never encountered before. Nevertheless, we are still grateful for such a wonderful shooting experience.
is about to graduate,The school arranged an internship. I went to Katch Media at the time. Here, I met other film students from other universities and learned about their experiences. We are divided into different groups for interesting competitions and challenges. During this internship, we have to watch as many movies as possible every week, break them down into the most basic elements, and then report. We will look at the details of the film from every possible angle, such as sound, photography, editing, production design, directing, writing, etc. Watching so many movies and paying attention to the details at the micro level, it really gives me a good sense of how a movie is composed like this.
was difficult at first, I had to watch a movie several times to fully understand it. Over time, I was able to process these elements faster and became more familiar. Now, every time I watch a movie, all these variables will come to my mind, and I can break down a movie more easily. Through this training, I improved my ability to make movies and made me more aware of all the factors that need to be considered.
In short, the experience that Chapman University has brought to me is very wonderful. Here, I met many like-minded friends and looked for a future direction.

has long been my most want to do is script writing and directing. When I was a child,I like to keep playing with Dad's camera. In the end, he was fed up with me always occupying his camera, so he gave me a blue digital movie camera at Christmas. Since then, my interest in making movies has been deeply imprinted in my heart.
My major in university has nothing to do with film, but my passion for film made me decide to apply for film academy after graduation. Dodge Film Academy is famous for encouraging students to practice. It is this that attracted me deeply and made me choose this place. I am eager for a lot of shooting practice and valuable internship opportunities, and these Dodgers have satisfied me.
When I was in school, the most proud film project I participated in was Into The Honeycomb. I was able to apply the script writing and filming methods I learned to the project and work with my classmates. We worked together in a team and got the most pertinent advice from the professor. After constant modification and optimization, we showed a perfect effect.
For those who have just entered Chapman University, I would like to say that film creation does not happen overnight. In the process of learning, you will make mistakes, but you must open your heart to accept criticism. You are not here to celebrate your current achievements, but to learn new techniques and methods from professors. Finally, I would also like to say to those who don’t like self-promotion and prematurely positioning themselves as a director/photographer/screenwriter/producer/editor/sound designer/production designer: You are already such a person NS.

I was a junior Dodge Film Academy,Majored in TV writing and production. My brothers and sisters and I have been professionally producing YouTube since the beginning of 2018. I want to use my video production skills to explore the world of TV! I have always liked editing videos, so I hope to become a professional TV editor.
I like the atmosphere of the Dodge Film Academy and the teachers and students. It is full of vitality for cooperation. Small class teaching gives me more opportunities to communicate with teachers. The diversified courses allow me to absorb more knowledge. . When I was looking for a school, I found that Dodge and TV writing and production majors seemed to be specially designed for me, and for me from New York, the geographical location and weather of Orange County are simply good news!
Director Erin Li’s class is my favorite so far. It’s a truly special experience for me to learn from an Asian American filmmaker. She is in many things The above support me very much, which makes me very encouraged. She prioritizes student diversity and mental health, which is exactly the professor I want, and I can learn a lot of real information about the film and television industry from her.
In short, coming to Dodge Film Academy to study is the most correct decision I have ever made. Here I met very professional teachers, as well as many talented and humorous classmates. Everyone often stayed up all night and made fun together. Video, all this is great.

I also have a Chapman radio program called Tik Talk, which is popular on Tik Tok. Artists and delve into their albums.
Like other people who came to Dodge to study, I came here to chase my dreams because of my love for movies. The classmates around me are very talented and hardworking. They stay up late to edit the film. They are also busy shooting on weekends and don't take a lot of rest. The professors are funny and humorous. Of course, they respect our ideas and encourage us to try different filming styles. In addition to film practice, film history and film aesthetics are two of my favorite theoretical courses. These are very effective courses that can help me understand the development of film history and aesthetic thinking. Moreover, the opportunity to watch multiple movies for free in the beautiful Folino every week is a very good bonus, and everyone should make good use of it.
Dodge students will study seriously and attentively when they are studying. When they are playing, they will throw away the burden of thinking and devote themselves to it. I remember one time my friend and I were on a lawn in the park. Take a rest, eat the food prepared by everyone, and enjoy the surrounding natural scenery. Suddenly, someone began to play music, and everyone began to dance to Queen and Elton John’s music. Even if people don’t know each other, everyone still enjoys spending time with Dodge’s classmates.
I always tell people that when no one is trying to sell to them, try to see the school they applied to. This is a good way to see the potential of the schools they are applying to. For me, coming to Chapman University to study film is a very lucky thing, and I will always be grateful for everything I have learned here.
