KTM recently launched the 2023 RC 8C track model, with a limited number of 200 units. As a medium and large displacement racing motorcycle, this car combines the latest KTM technology and configurations. Let’s take a look together.
This car has almost no difference in appearance from the 2021 model, except that the original orange panel is replaced with black decorative panels. The exterior panel material continues to use carbon fiber , as well as GRP and Kevlar bodies, which is also KTM's usual racing configuration; the original version of the frame uses Kramer handmade chrome steel frame frame.
Although the appearance has not changed much, in the most core engine part of the vehicle, the KTM redesigned LC8c 889cc twin-cylinder engine was used, and the power increased from the previous 128 horsepower to 135 horsepower; in terms of technical details, new titanium alloy intake and exhaust valves are equipped, and titanium alloy connecting rods are used, and 48mm throttle and higher compression ratio are used to achieve power improvement.
In addition to the engine, KTM has also added a new oil cooler , and at the same time modified the crankcase balance shaft and removed the upper balancer in the cylinder head. It can be said that the 2023 model has changed a lot in terms of the core component of the engine.
In addition, since the 2023 model adopts the new titanium Akrapovic racing exhaust system, the vehicle weighs only 142kg. You should know that this is a medium-sized and large-displacement motorcycle; in addition, the optimized WP Apex Pro suspension is used, which mainly improves the vehicle's support and stability in the corners, and has a great improvement in rider's confidence.
However, in terms of electronic control, there is almost no change in the 2023 model. They allow fine adjustments to the vehicle's traction control, throttle mapping and engine braking , and even the three-clip offset of the front of the car can be slightly changed through the adjustment rod.
Other configurations include the use of Brembo Stylema 4 piston radial calipers and paired with Brembo 19RCS Corsa Corta master cylinder; the hub uses forged alloy Dymags wheels and has a quick shift function.
As a limited edition car model for the track version, KTM priced it at US$39,000; this price is still relatively high, even higher than some public upgrades to sports car ; but who made it the track specifications? What do you think of riders? Welcome to leave a message for discussion and sharing!
