Recently, Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) officially announced the information on the next generation of electric platforms at the "Unlock the Software Age" event.
Hydn said that starting with the launch of new eM and eS electric platforms in 2025, the car will be developed under the IMA (Integrated Modular Architecture) hardware and software integration platform. Compared with the current electric vehicle , the new platform will support a 50% increase in vehicle mileage, supporting L3 or higher autonomous driving technology and OTA upgrade functions. Among the two main platforms
, the eS platform will be a "skateboard" platform for the development of PBV (Purpose Built Vehicle) special purpose vehicles, which can be used to develop logistics vehicles, customized vehicles for transporting goods, etc.
IMA integrated system standardizes and modularizes key components of electric vehicles to improve synergy capabilities, shorten development time and development costs. For example, Hyundai Auto will standardize batteries and motors, thereby more flexibly applying general components to each car, thereby effectively expanding the model lineup.
In addition, HMG said that starting from 2023, all newly listed cars of Hyundai Motor Group, whether electric vehicles or internal combustion engine vehicles, will provide the OTA function; by 2025, 20 million cars around the world will use their Internet of Vehicle Services.
