Shi Huibu, whose common surname is Hao, is from Guangling (now Yangzhou, Jiangsu). He has little ambitions and is generous and straightforward. He lived in Jiangbei at the age of fifteen and was a military general in his family. I often had military service at that time and once said that if I were asked to lead 5,000 troops to destroy the enemy camp, wouldn’t it be successful? Everyone praised his ambitions very much. When his brother died at the age of sixteen, he deeply felt that life was like a dream, and the world was impermanent. He wanted to leave the world and become a monk. His relatives and friends all disagreed because they knew that he had martial arts. He only realized his wish to become a monk at the age of twenty-one. After his hair was finished, he went to Yangdu to study " Chengshi Theory " from Master Qiong in Jianchu Temple, and understood the principles of false appearances and reality. Huibu felt that the thoughts of "Chengshi Theory" could not be fully understood. He heard that Master Sengquan was well-known in the Zhiguan Temple in Xieshan, and he went to Xueshan to study "Three Treatises" from Monk.

There were hundreds of people who received the masters and were all outstanding talents at that time. Regarding the mysteries of the Three Theories, he understood the subtle meaning and understood the divine understanding. At that time, no one could compare with him, so he had the reputation of "deyibu", and some people called him "since the mysteriousbu". When Monk Chunquan was preaching the scriptures and interpretations, many listeners seemed to understand some of the meanings, but they were still confused about their understanding. When talking, people often ask questions and ask for answers, and Huibu often needs to answer them. Therefore, a saying was circulated in the Buddhist community at that time, saying: "The four friends of the public are: the so-called four sentences (i.e. Falang ), lead the speech debate (i.e. wise debate), article courage (i.e. huiyong), and deyibu (i.e. huibun). Among them, Huibun said that he was the first, which was the highest praise.

Later, Huibu devoted himself to the Great Chapter, realized the Mahayana, subdued troubles, conquered the body and mind, and purified the Brahmacharya. Diligent in meditation, stay away from the turmoil, sit upright like a tree, and swear not to speak, and to protect Buddhism as the current mission. Later, he visited Beiye and further explored Zen Master Yu Huike's words after talking to him. Zen Master Huike said, "The master said that it is to break the self-view, nothing is more than this." Then he can fully understand the principles and concentrate on the lecture. Later, he went to study in , Qi State , wrote a chapter of Shu Liutuo, took it back to Jiangnan, and gave it to Farang, and asked him to speak. Because the original chapters and comments were omitted, they returned to Qi State and completed the missing ones, and then brought them back to Master Farang. Huibu himself had nothing to accumulate except for his robe and bowl, and he focused on enlightenment and was only in the pine forest. Detached from the world, scholars admire it.

Huibu once visited Zen Master Huisi and talked to him about the great principles of Buddhism. He forgot to eat and sleep day and night without any intention of being tired. Huisi hit the case with Tie Ruyi and said, "There is no such wise person." More than a thousand people sitting in the seat sighed in unison. He also discussed the meaning with Zen Master Miao, and traveled back and forth for three days, one after another. Zen Master Miao praised his outstanding wisdom and wisdom. Although Huibu has supernatural wisdom, he has always been humble and has no place to show off. During the rebellion of Houjing in Liang, natural disasters and man-made disasters came at once. Huibu never had a meal for three consecutive days. On the fourth day, someone gave him food, but it seemed to have the smell of pork. Although he was hungry, he decided not to eat. Even though you suffer such a disaster, you will never violate the precepts. He also suffered from foot disease, so the doctor asked him to eat leeks, and later he often confessed his crime. Some people may be happy to be reborn in the Pure Land of the West, and they told him, "Although the West is the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, it is not my wish. What I wish is to save sentient beings in this land. It is better to receive joy in the lotus for ten kalpas. During the Chen Zhide period of the three paths, Huibu invited Zen Master Gong to establish the Xixia Temple in the Sheshan, and spread the Dharma. He is famous in the south of the Yangtze River. He is famous far and near, and is competing with each other. However, he himself does not serve as a teacher for the monks. He often mentors the lower-ranking people in the lower positions, and he often mends and cleans them himself. At the sixth time, he was already the leader of the people. His thoughts were subtle and he sat upright like a tree. Everyone who saw them was respectful. Famous monks from far and near There are countless great masters who asked him for advice on Buddhism. Lord Chen and all the princes and ministers took precepts from him and worshiped them like Buddha. In his later years, his appetite was depressed, and the emperor ordered him to use milk cows, and he returned to the public. He was alone and strictly supported him. He was actually a great monk! When he was seventy years old, he bid farewell to the public and said, "I still have three or five years of age, but since I am old and cannot practice the Dharma, what's the benefit of living in the world? I always wish to be born in a remote area where there are no Three Jewels so far, so that I can spread the Dharma.Fortunately, everyone is alive here, I hope everyone can work hard. "After saying that, he refused to eat, and his life was about to end. The emperor ordered the doctor to treat him, but he did not agree; the queen, Mr. Guan, wanted to spread the incense letter, but he did not allow him. When he died, he said, "I am not happy with my longevity, and I will have no worries when I die in the evening. Because there is no birth in life, there is no death in death. All the scholars and disciples entrusted them to Zen Master Gong, and I will have no worries." On November 23, the first year of Chen Zhenming (587 AD), he was silent at Qixia Temple, and his life was seventy years old.
