
At the time of in the Tang Dynasty, there was a Zen master Wuzhang, who was the son of Dong's family in Yongjia . Since he was a child, he was talented and outstanding. Compared with everyone, he was like a crane standing out among the crowd and looked particularly outstanding. At the age of twelve, he converted to lawyer Yi of Longquan Temple in Benzhou, shaved and became a monk, chanting Mahayana scriptures every day, reaching tens of thousands of verses.
Tianbao8 years old, because of his excellent career, he was just twenty-one that year. The orphan master passed the robe and mansion to him, and he took on the work of temple affairs and transportation.
He was good at precepts because he admired the virtues and reputation of Zen Master Huizhong, Niutou Mountain in Jinling, so he went to visit and study. He studied Zen's essence from Zen Master Huizhong, and worked hard for a while and refused to waste his time.
But Zen Master Huizhong said to him like this:
"People are afraid that they are not smart enough, but you are too smart to understand the principles of meditation. If you were not too smart, your mind would have been enlightened long ago. You should know that the Buddhas of the three ages have no Dharma to obtain outside the minds of sentient beings. If the illusions in the heart are eliminated, then the void is originally pure and nothing can be held to!"
Wugang suddenly opened his eyes to realize the mind after Zen Master Huizhong said.
From then on, he traveled around the world and visited everywhere in the natural environment of mountains, forests and springs, which was of great benefit to his own Taoism.

In the summer of the second year of Dali, I arrived at Qingliangshan , and hung a list in Huayan Temple and sat cross-legged in front of the Sutra Tower. After three days of Zen, I saw a white light coming from the northeast in the second half of the night, shining on the top of his head, and it disappeared for a long time.
After this white light baptism, the body and mind feel cool and free, and get a great Dharma joy . Early the next morning, he recalled the place where the white light came from, so he walked northeast, and arrived at the entrance of Louguan Valley, thinking about the holy realm, so he bowed hundreds of times, and then sat cross-legged in his rest.
At this moment, someone suddenly heard the sound of someone scolding the cattle. He woke up in shock and saw an old man dressed simply, leading the cow and coming to Wuzhi's face. Wuzhi asked him, "Where did the elder come from?"
"I came from the mountains." The old man replied.
"Where are your home?"
"It's in this valley!"
The old man then asked him back:
"Where are you? Where are you going?"
"I want to Go to the Vajra Cave, but you can't find the path."
"So, why not go to my house to rest for a while and have some tea?"

Wujie followed the old man, and he arrived about fifty steps northward. The old man called out into the door, walked out of a boy, opened the door, took the cow from the old man and led it in. The old man asked Wuzhang to enter the house, but saw that the floor of the room was very flat and in the color of glass. The halls, bedrooms and furnishings were not like those used by people in the world.
After sitting down, the old man asked again:
"Where did you come from?"
"Southern."
"Do you have good rosary?"
"There are only rougher rosary."
"Please take it out and show it to me!"
"When did you take it out?"
"You can take it out and show it to the old man."
"Tell me what belongs to you!"
"This clearly belongs to me!"
"If it belongs to you, why did it come from the south?"
When the two were talking, the boy brought two glass cups, filled with crisp honey, one cup was worshipped and one cup was presented to the old man.

The old man raised his cup and asked:
"Is this in the south?"
Wuzhe looked at the cup very delicate and the style was very special, so he answered the old man:
"There is no such cup in the south!"
"Since there is no such cup, what should I use to have tea?"
Wuzhe didn't know how to deal with it.
The old man asked him again:
"How did your southern Buddhism preach? Tell me the situation!"
"It's a pity that, in the era of Dharma-Ending , few monks followed the precepts."
"How many people have kept the precepts?"
"There are roughly three hundred and five hundred people." ht After answering the answer without any answer, he then asked:
"What about this? What is the Buddhist Dharma here?"
"There is a mixture of dragons and snakes, and the common people and holy people are intersected."
"How many Buddhists are there?"
"The first three and the last three."
"There are no more silent." The old man asked him again:
"What do you often do?"
"I am impressed by Prajna, but I feel that I can't understand the key points."
"What you said is that I can't understand the key points!"
The old man asked again: "You first became a monk, What are you asking for? "
"You want to achieve Buddhahood in the future!"
"This is very good! As long as you can maintain the initial aspiration, you will definitely achieve Buddhahood."
asked again, "How old are you?"
"I am thirty-one." Wuzhu replied.
"When you are thirty-eight years old, you will naturally be blessed. Now you are moving forward steadily, don't feel sad and dissatisfied with your own grief. I am very tired and want to sleep. Please give me your composure!"
Wuzhe said:
"The weather is quite late. Can I let me stay here for a night?"
The old man refused to say:
"You have it." Two partners, this is what you are obsessed with, so you should not stay overnight. "
"I didn't have a partner, and I didn't have any nostalgia and persistence! I don't understand what you said." The old man said:
"Since you don't have the idea of nostalgia in your heart, why do you need to live here? Since you have no nostalgia and need, isn't it equivalent to having two companions around you?"
said, "I don't know what to say."
The old man asked again:
"Do you carry a robe or something with you?"
"Since I received the full ring and bowl, I have always carried it."
Unexpectedly, the old man said disapprovingly:
" Sage is nothing difficult. You should know that you can give up and you will not even give up your robe or bowl, so you will leave."
No sincere request when you bid farewell: Shiren is not difficult. You should know that you can give up and you will not even give up your robe or bowl, so you will leave."
When you bid farewell, you have no sincere request: When you say goodbye: l2 "I still have a question in my heart now. I dare to beg the great masters to show that Five turbidities sentient beings in the evil world really have few good roots. What should we do to make them liberated?" The old man then said a verse to him: "If a person sits in meditation for a moment, it is better to build the seven-palace pagoda of the everlasting sand; the pagoda will turn into dust after all, and a thought of meditation will lead to enlightenment." means: If a person can meditate quietly, even a moment of effort is better than to build the seven-layer pagoda of the Ganges sand ! You should know that the pagoda will turn into dust one day. However, the sincere thought in my heart can enable me to complete the path of enlightenment in the future.

After saying this verse, he asked the boy to send Wuzhang out.
Wuge took the opportunity to ask the boy:
"What are the first three and the last three that the master just mentioned just now?"
Boy answered him:
"The one behind the King Kong."
Wuge was confused, but he still didn't know.
asked the boy again:
"Where is the Vajra Cave?"
The child suddenly pointed his finger behind him: "This is Prajna Temple."
When Wu Ge looked back, the boy and the house disappeared, and he saw the mountains and the dense forests with a gloomy look. He felt sad, melancholy, nostalgic, and admiration. All kinds of emotions surged into his heart.
wandered for a long time, and suddenly saw auspicious clouds in the sky, and the round light appeared on the clouds, hanging like a mirror, as if many Bodhisattva shadows were faintly reflected in the round light, and the shape of algae bottle tin staff and lotus master. At this time, he was really sad and happy and could not control himself.
After a while, everything returned to its original state. Wu Ge felt very moved, so he wrote a verse naturally:
"The surrounding sand world shows the blue sky, and the whole Manjushri talks; I don't know what seal to open, but I just look back at the old mountain rock."
After saying the verse, he found a way back to Dahuayan Temple, and mentioned to the temple the past and after meeting the Bodhisattva. Zen Master Wuzhai finally stood in front of the Vajra Cave.
Later Zen Master Xuedou wrote a verse: "Thousands of peaks are like blue, who says Manjushri is talking about? It is so cool that many people are laughing at, first three and last three."
