There is a famous case in Zen Buddhism. It is said that Zen Master Baiyun Shouduan and Master Yang Qi Fanghui practiced Zen together. Yang Qi Fanghui asked, "I heard that your master, Monk Yu, fell over the bridge and realized the truth. He said a verse when he was enlightened. Do you still remember?"
Baiyun Shouduan replied respectfully: "I have a pearl, which has been kept in vain for a long time; once the dust is gone, it shines through thousands of mountains and rivers."
Yang Qi Fanghui laughed a few times and left without saying a word.
Bai Yunshouduan sat in a daze for a long time, staring at the master's departure with a dazed in confusion. He was thinking about his master's behavior all day long, and tossing and turning at night, unable to fall asleep, and he slept hard all night, but still couldn't understand.
Early the next morning, Bai Yunshouduan went to ask the teacher for doubt.
Yang Qi Fanghui looked at the disciple with black eyes and smiled, "It turns out that you are not as good as a clown. The clown is not afraid of people laughing, but you are afraid of people laughing." Bai Yun Shouduan suddenly became enlightened after hearing this.
The meaning of this allusion is: Many troubles in the world are thought out of nothing. If you think about it, you will exist, and if you don’t think about it, you will not.
In fact, in real life, also has this kind of troubles caused by excessive concerns and suspicion. More than 80% of the troubles in life are caused by nothing.
If you want to get rid of such a dilemma and solve your troubles, many people are looking for solutions and exploring the exit from the mystery.
"The answer to all, including the outlet you are looking for, is actually in yourself."
This is the answer of the author of "Nothing to Make Nothing". The author of this book, Yang Dingyi , is a doctor of medicine. He devoted his life to life research. Since his first book " Mahara Medical ", he has paid attention to the exploration of the world's body, mind and spirit.
"Collective Amnesia", "Things in the Mind", and "Nothing to Make Nothing" series are about the awakening path of life wisdom, living out the truth of life, and reaping the abundant life.
Why do people always feel powerless and always have endless desires? What is life? "Nothing to make mistakes" will bring you the path of enlightenment, recognize the ego, and also have a real "I", cross-domain thinking limits, and find a free way to live again.
Recognize the root of thoughts and actions
There is a famous philosophical work "Liezi" that says: There is a child by the seaside, playing with groups of seagulls all day long, and birds are not afraid of him, and people get along well with seagulls.
One day, my father and the child said, when you play with the birds again, catch two birds and let me see it. The innocent child agreed. However, after the next day, the birds are no longer far away from their children as they used to.
The meaning of this story: when people have thoughts and actions, everything will be in response. If people have the heart to harm things, things will not get close to you.
However, many people find it difficult to understand or have doubts and find it incredible.
In fact, Taiwan’s famous Chinese studies master Nan Huaijin has also experienced it many times.
He once said: "When I was in seclusion in Mount Emei, not only could I not see people, but even ghosts. Sometimes I think that no one came, it would be better to have a ghost. One day, as soon as the window opened, I saw many butterflies flying in front of me. The butterflies are so big, as big as books, and I also sent them a childlike heart. I asked them to come in and play, and a butterfly slowly turned around, come, come, come, and stretched out his hand, and it stopped in his hand to play. Of course, I didn't have any thoughts and didn't want to lock it in. "
Maybe, many people still disagree. However, it is undeniable that human thoughts and actions have bound the ideology of most people. All kinds of behaviors are trapped by thoughts and actions. However, we are completely unaware that the ups and downs of our emotions and floating thoughts are all caused by our thoughts and actions.
Just like: people's pursuits, from material or external, including the feeling of being recognized as positive, including: sense of security, satisfaction, perfection, ideal, only, breakthrough, sense of accomplishment, etc. As long as the goal is reached, the goal will be improved soon.
People in the world live in the next expectation all the time. "Sustainable waiting" has become a state of life, and the trajectory of life is swept away by "not satisfied with expectations".
These states are not comfortable. is inclined to and lying flat has become a helpless move for contemporary people. Can we have to live like this? What should I do?
Dr. Yang Dingyi gave the answer in "Nothing to Make Nothing": Exit, it's just your own mind.
Breaking out of the constraints of the brain
Song Dynasty "Jingde Chuan Lantern Record" records that one winter in the middle of the Tang Yuanhe year, Zen Master Danxia went out to visit friends and stayed overnight at Huilin Temple . It was cold and the monks sitting in the temple were all cold and shrank into a ball.
Zen Master Danxia took off, split and roasted the wood-carved Buddha statue. In this move, the picket master in the temple scolded him, "How can you use the Buddha statue to burn the fire to keep warm?"
Zen Master Danxia used his staff to move the wooden ashes and calmly replied, "I burn the Buddha statue to make a relic!"
"Where does the wooden Buddha statue come from the relic?" The picket master still rebuked loudly.
"Since it's wood without relics, why not take more to cook fire!" Zen Master Danxia then took the Buddha statue and threw it into the fire. The premise of this allusion is that Zen Master Danxia did not burn Buddhas in a temple, this is only his only time. The meaning is: a monk has a Buddha in his heart, and he is not bound by form, and he is straightforward to follow his nature and practice, which does not violate the doctrine.
However, there are actually not many minds like picketers in the world.
We always have many reasons and needs. We want to complete some work, play every role well, accumulate some things, get some achievements, do some services, etc., and make and expect to fill our brains.
Little do you know that the instructions of the brain are the framework that traps our hearts. Only by breaking out of the framework of the mind and breaking the limited self can one recover the original heart.
The book "Nothing to Make Nothing" mentions that in the face of the mind, the reaction, the actions, the planning, the boycott, the protest, the rebound, the overthrow, the contradiction, the conflict and even the reform that the mind should have. Facing it with a way that does not interfere, does not move, and lets go of everything is one way to break out of the framework.
Simply put, everything you face can be sure of it. No matter whether it is good or bad, everything can be let go of it and let go of any motivation. Purify the mind, reduce the ups and downs of thoughts and emotions, and return to the true nature of life's tranquility.
Let the original life return, everything should look effortless and live the real life.
A life that is not greedy is free
A young man went to the Zen temple to visit the Zen master. On the way, he saw an interesting thing and wanted to make things difficult for the Zen master. During the chat, the young man suddenly asked: "What is a tumbling?"
"It's because the rope has not broken," the Zen master replied casually.
A young man was stunned after hearing this, and was surprised that Zen Master had great supernatural powers.
It turned out that the young man saw a cow tied to the tree by a rope on the way. The cow thought of eating grass from a distance. However, because of the rope, the cow wanted to get rid of it, but instead circled around the tree.
Young people thought that the Zen master had never seen it, so they didn't know the answer, but who expected the Zen master to answer it in a scattered manner.
Zen Master continued, "If you ask, I will answer. It is a matter for the cow to be bound by a rope and not be able to escape; it is a matter for the mind to be entangled by the worldly affairs and not be able to transcend it. It is a truth for one principle to understand everything."
Zen Master revealed the secret of heaven in one word. Rather than saying that people are entangled by the world, it is actually because people are too greedy.
Our lives are also bound by various ropes. We often rack our brains because of promotion; because of wins and losses, we can make us think; because of gains and losses, we can beat our chests and stamp our feet; because of love, we can also make us seek death.
mistakenly regards money, rights, reputation as happiness and happiness, and keeps going. Forgot to live out your true self.
Doctor Yang Dingyi said in "Nothing to Make Nothing": "A perfect life is to support yourself, establish yourself, satisfy yourself, and complete yourself."
In life, the so-called expectations, worries, setbacks, anger, disappointment or other emotions cannot cause interference to you. After dealing with the things in front of you, you can let go and put them aside.
When you face it with no restrictions and true face, you will naturally become humble, sincere, calm and free.
People who are not greedy know that they are the essence of everything. The rope that hurts and binds us is endless thoughts, not what the heart wants.
Conclusion
Poet Du Fu There is a poem: "Don't recognize gold and silver energy at night", which is about greed.
People who are in a pure state of mind and are not greedy can often see the gold and silver qi buried underground; but those who can't wait to practice and deliberately can't find the gold and silver qi.
People often say that "nothing can be considered", not that it is really "nothing", but that it is just that it does not care about right and wrong, success or failure, gain or loss, high or low, and everything is concerned.
Obey your original heart in everything, do not force, do not force, do not deliberately, I am lucky if I get it, and I am lucky if I lose it, with a normal heart, don’t "Nothing to make mistakes", life must be infinite possibilities, this is the best psychological healing.
