Four rules for aging (one)

   Introduction

An old friend of mine advised me to practice Buddhism. I have read some Buddhist books before. I also went to Longquan Temple and Putuo Temple and to talk to the monks and monks. What impressed me the most was the Four Dharma Seals in Buddhism , also known as the four Dharmas: All actions are impermanent; all defilements are suffering; all dharmas have no self; Nirvana and silence. I think this may be the most profound and subtle truth in Buddhism. But it is difficult for ordinary people to fully comprehend and it is even more difficult for them to truly enter that state. I think that is actually a kind of cultivation that allows people to enter the state of inanimate life. has figured it out? you! You who have desires, seeks and life, must cultivate to a state of no desires, no desires, no life! Can you do it? So, oh, the show is so dangerous! The difficulty of Buddhism and Taoism is as difficult as the blue sky!

Lao Yu is old, but he thinks that it is difficult to practice the life of his old friend. I am no exaggeration to describe it. It is really a day when "exploded the changes in the black clothes in the three springs, leaning on the green lamp alone with the ancient Buddha" . I really can't live up to it. However, when I observed my leisurely and contented life in my later years, I could still summarize four ways. So I dared to propose Chen Laoyu's "Four Rules of Aging" , posted here to make a laughing at all parties.

 The first rule: walk

The Walking , if you use a more accurate description, it is called Walking (Walk upright) . Walking upright is a unique way of existence for humans. I just checked it out and in Chen Laoyu's new book "Imagine the Day After" , there are 37 places talking about walking upright . It can be seen that it is crucial in the origin of and development of human beings, and Chen Laoyu attaches great importance to it.

In short, Walking upright is the first time in evolutionary history that happened human personalized selection . And this choice is anti-God and anti-evolution . In fact, the creatures with two legs walking upright, regardless of the speed, running efficiency, and body stability, are much different from the creatures with four legs walking upright. Therefore, God has not yet admitted that human beings are walking upright. This choice of humans was not stored in human evolution gene. Even every little child in humans will not walk upright after being born; he has to spend at least more than a year learning and mastering walking upright. This is far more than the time any other animal learns their most necessary survival skills after birth. For example, the skill of flying should be much more difficult than walking upright . But even the little birds learn to fly are not as difficult as children learn to walk upright. It is because God has also accepted the most difficult skill of flying, and has entered the genetic gene of bird creatures.

I wonder if you have noticed it? Among all the mammals on the earth, only humans and only humans chose "standing on both feet, walking upright" . Why don’t other mammals adopt this way of survival? The reason is very simple, but this way of survival is not rational. As for why humans finally adopted this unreasonable way of existence? There are reasons why it has to be done, but this is not the topic we are going to discuss today. (See Chen Laoyu's book "Imagine the Day After".) But by the way, now stupid humans are still trying hard to imitate their own unreasonable existence method to develop a simulated robot that "standing on both feet and walking upright", especially the American internet celebrity company Boston Dynamics is the best! Its bipedal robot (Atlas) and four-legged robot dog (Spot) have become popular all over the Internet. (Picture below)

However, now everyone knows that Boston Dynamics, which has the highest robot simulation technology, is not a good company in the commercial sense. In fact, the four-legged robot dog (Spot) may be a bit useful in the future. The bipedal robot (Atlashml5) is basically completely useless. That's just showing off your skills and coolness. Boston Dynamics, which has changed its power three times, also understands this, and recently, it has begun to produce robots that can be sold to enterprises. They all walk on tracks or on four wheels. The cool hits and the dog-shaped robots disappeared without a trace. Obviously, for robots, walking with four wheels or tracks is much more reliable, efficient and stable than walking with two or four legs. More importantly, the technology is much more mature and the cost is much lower.

But then again. Because only human species in the Earth's biosphere adopts the way of walking upright, walking upright is particularly important to humans and has become the population symbol of humans. The stronger a person walks upright, the stronger his vitality will be. The person with the strongest ability to walk upright must be the best among humans, and is even considered a great hero by humans.

For example, the Spanish man who won the championship in Circle Mont Blanc Cross Country Race (UTMB) Kílian Jornet , isn't he such a hero? It took him only 19 hours and 40 minutes to complete the 171 kilometers of rough and rough schedule with an altitude of 10,000 meters. And where are the second, third...? You can't see it at all. They will definitely not appear slowly after the competition is timed for more than 20 hours. And I thought about it, if I was young, I would also participate in the competition, I might have to appear on the finish line of Chamonix city after three days (72 hours) or even five days (120 hours). (You know, when I was young, I was also a person who could leave.) This is the gap between people. You can't refuse to accept it.

The first sign of human aging is the decline in your ability to walk upright. As long as you walk vigorously, you will still be young. Is this true? But you won't always walk steadily. You will definitely have walking obstacles. And in the end you will definitely lose the ability to walk upright. When that moment comes, it means that your life is approaching the end.

So, for all elderly people, the first rule for maintaining their own vitality is to maintain their ability to walk. Note that the only way to maintain this ability is to have to walk every day. No matter how difficult or hard it is, no matter how unwilling it is, you have to go out and take a few steps. Moreover, it is definitely not the kind of leisurely strolling in the garden. The elderly must have a certain speed in fitness walking. The best way to walk for the health of the elderly is to walk quickly. The speed must be reached to make you feel a little breathless, and you must sweat to achieve the standard. You can walk outdoors, so that you can bask in the sun and replenish calcium. At the same time, look at the scenery and be down-to-earth. However, sometimes the weather is too hot or cold, then forget it. I also like to walk on the treadmill at home for 30 minutes a day, about a little over two kilometers. Sometimes when you are happy or staring at the iPad in front of you and forgetting the time when you watch a movie, you will walk three or four kilometers, 40-50 minutes.

Whether in China and abroad, almost all experts will tell you: Walking upright is the healthiest and most effective way of exercise for humans. And life lies in movement. As long as you insist on walking for 30 to 60 minutes a day, five days a week, and strive to reach a speed of about four kilometers per hour, your body will definitely be healthier. It will be fully reflected in the enhancement of your physical strength, endurance and energy; it will be reflected in the enhancement of your ability to resist stroke , bowel cancer, hypertension , diabetes , coronary heart disease , obesity and osteoporosis . At the same time, continuous walking can also help you increase HDL and reduce LDL ; it can improve your memory, concentration, learning and imagination, relieve or eliminate your anxiety and depression , thereby greatly improving your sense of happiness and self-confidence. I think this should not be a fool.

Old people, please insist on walking every day! Please keep walking every day!
