Explanation of the sixth enlightenment and the six wonderful gates
The reason why six wonderful gates from the perspective of permeation and difference is that ordinary people, heretics, the two vehicles, and Bodhisattvas can all practice the number of breaths, but due to the difference in wisdom, the results of attaining Nirvana will be different, and the same is true for following, stopping, observing, returning, and purifying the other wonderful gates. Why do you say that? When counting breaths, ordinary people who have a relatively dull foundation only know how to count from one to ten, so that their minds can calm down and want to enter meditation and enjoy all kinds of happiness. This is essentially due to the ordinary people's heart that is greedy for life and fear of death. In this way, practicing counting breaths is actually creating demonic karma.
The heretic practitioners with sharp aptitude have strong discriminatory thoughts and like to analyze and interpret. When counting breaths, they not only use counting breaths to regulate their minds, but also seek meditation from one to ten thoughts, but also carefully distinguish in their minds: there is breath but no breath, there is breath and no breath, neither breath nor no breath; the past breath is about to leave but not leave, and it is not leaving yet, neither leaving nor not leaving yet; the future breath has boundaries and boundaries, neither borders nor boundaries, neither borders nor boundaries; the present breath has permanence and impermanence, neither permanent nor impermanence, and so on. These heretics believe that the mind is the same. When the mind has various distinctions in the object of concern, they will regard what they see as reality and then frame it with words, and what they say is lies. These people do not understand the appearance of in and out of breath, and they produce various slander differences according to the false views of the mind. They are attached to the four sides of existence, non-existence, non-existence, neither exist nor non-existence, and the four sides are like fire sources, burning afflictions into a prairie flame, greedy for evil views in the long night of reincarnation, eliminate good roots, and cannot understand the meaning of "no birth", and their minds operate in contradictory to reason. These people are called heretics. Although ordinary people and heretics have different foundations, they are not different in experiencing the cycle of life and death in the three realms.
How to practice the Counting Breath of the Vajra Vehicle? Because the practitioners of the Shravakas want to quickly leave the three realms and seek self-nirvana, they practice counting breaths to regulate the false mind, and at this time, they do not leave the Four Noble Conceptions among counting breaths. How to observe , the Four Noble Truths, while counting breaths? The practitioner knows that the in and out of breath exists according to the body, and the appearance and operation of the body depend on the feelings of the mind. The combination of the three elements of breath, body and mind is called the five aggregates, eighteen realms, and twelve entry. The aggregates, realms, and entry is the truth of suffering. If a person is greedy for these contents of the aggregates and realms, and even follows the discriminatory thoughts, divides the distinctions of the aggregates and realms and realms to regard them as real laws one by one, this is the truth of origin. If one can achieve the nature of in and out of breath, one can realize that suffering is originally without birth, and does not produce four kinds of feelings①, and does not initiate four kinds of actions②. If you are dull and sharp, you will not be able to arise, and you will not be able to arise. This is , the truth of extinction, and . Having the wisdom of knowing suffering and being able to understand the principles of law without obstruction is the truth of the Tao. If a practitioner can understand the Four Noble Truths and practice the Counting Breath at the same time, he will definitely obtain the path of the Śrāvakas, eliminate all troubles and defilements, and no longer create any new karma.
So how can we enter the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle when counting the breath? Pratyekabuddha practitioners seek natural and innocent wisdom, are willing to be alone and silence, and are well aware of the causes and conditions of all dharmas. When counting breaths, you immediately realize that the consciousness when counting breaths is the branch of the twelve links of causes and conditions. There comes from taking, and taking comes from love. Love comes from feeling, feeling comes from touch, touch comes from the six sense organs, the six sense organs come from name and form, name and form come from consciousness, consciousness comes from action, and action comes from ignorance. Observing the existence of this thought of inhalation and exhalation is a good deed of conditioned dharma, which belongs to good causes and conditions, and will definitely bring about the future retribution of human and heaven. Also, due to the consequences of being affected, people will definitely suffer from old age and sorrow. Sighing at the boundless vast life and death, and lamenting at the endless cycle of causes and conditions in the three lives. However, in fact, everything has not been born and has not been destroyed. Birth and death are just a pair of concepts created by the mind, not the truth. We must understand that the ignorance that promotes all this has no self-nature. It is just born from the combination of delusions and has no real existence and cannot be obtained. It is just a forced to fake the name "ignorance". It should be understood that all the causes and conditions such as the knowledge and action branch also have no self-nature and no root.Since there are no causes and conditions such as the action, how can the counting of breaths be real now? At this time, practitioners must know that the matter of counting breath is a combination of causes and conditions, and they are empty and have no self-nature, they are not attached to the attachment and suffering, and they do not distinguish them with their minds and consciousness. The mind is like the void, silent and unmoving. The unobstructed mind that transcends life and death will suddenly appear like a field where the fog is dissipated, vast and boundless, achieving the path of Pratyekabuddha.
Furthermore, how can Bodhisattvas practice the zodiac sign? Bodhisattvas practice diligently in order to obtain all wisdom, Buddha's wisdom ④, natural wisdom, and teacher-free wisdom ⑤. Because only the great wisdom of Tathagata can be fearless, and can truly save sentient beings with compassion and place all the countless sentient beings in a place of happiness. For this reason, we are aspiring to practice the Vajra Number of Breaths and enter all the wisdom of the Buddhas through the Vajra Number of Breaths. As the sutra says, "Anapana is the first gate of the Buddhas of the three ages when they enter the path."Anapana" refers to breath and breath. Therefore, if a Bodhisattva who has just made a first aspiration to seek the Buddha's path, the first task is to regulate his mind and count his breath. When counting breaths, he must understand that the in and out breath is like an illusion, not real, it has nothing to do with life and death, nor Nirvana. When practicing the breath of the number of breaths, he does not see that life and death can be eliminated, nor Nirvana can be obtained, because there is no birth and death. binary opposition , so it does not dwell in life and death. Neither the twenty-five bondage is bound by ⑥, nor does it attain Nirvana, so it will not fall into the realm of the Śūvakas and Pratyekabuddhas. With equal wisdom, the mind has no choice and bidding, and enters the middle way of in and out of breath, which means seeing the Buddha nature, obtaining the patience of non-birth, and abides in the great Nirvana of eternal happiness and self-purity. The sutra says: "It is like a great water that can suddenly evade everything, but only the willows are removed because of its softness. "The water can break through all the things encountered on the way, but there is nothing to do with the willows, because the branches of the willows are flexible. This metaphor shows that the torrent of life and death can rush out all ordinary people, but the heart of the Bodhisattva is as soft as a willow branch, and is absent in the Mahayana Nirvana of Mahayana, and is unmoved. This is the Mahayana practitioner who practices the number of breaths into the Bodhisattva's position by practicing the number of breaths.
or above briefly introduces the differences between the Mahayana Mahayana and Hinayana in the six wonderful gates of practice. Although the number of breaths belongs to the method of communicating with ordinary people and sages, they must also understand the different levels of practice. In addition, although the number of breaths is a common practice of the two vehicles of Bodhisattvas, the results obtained are But it is descended according to the level. The rest of the wonderful doors that follow the meditation and contemplation, and each wonderful door is also different from the Mahayana and Hinayana due to different wisdom.
Comment:
①Four feelings: Here it may refer to the distinction between the feeling aggregate. The feeling aggregate can be divided into four kinds of feelings: desire realm feeling, form realm feeling, formless realm feeling, and no sense. Not being connected to feeling refers to the various feelings corresponding to the thought without leakage, etc.
② Four Essences: Here it may refer to the other four items that eliminate "no drinking" among the five precepts: do not kill, do not steal, do not commit adultery, and do not lie.
③ Dull and powerful envoys: There are five types of dull and five types of powerful envoys, a total of ten types of 10, which are also called ten fundamental afflictions. ⑤ Natural wisdom: All kinds of wisdom born naturally and consciously and self-evident, without any human creation, naturally knows all dharmas. If the knowledge of things is based on the teachings of teachers or other ways, then this kind of knowledge is produced by the combination of causes and conditions, and has the form of a conditioned Dharma Dharma of the shaming of birth and death, and is not the natural wisdom of the Buddha's Dharma nature. True natural wisdom can be obtained by neither practice nor learning, nor can it be taught to others.
⑥ Twenty-five existences: The three realms are divided into twenty-five existences. There are fourteen existences in the desire realm, including the four evil realms, four continents and six desire heavens. times to explain the sixth master and distinguish the six wonderful gates.
So the words are different from the six gates. Ordinary and heretics, the Bodhisattvas of the Two Vehicles, observe the method of counting breaths and one. But the benefits are different. Therefore, the difference between realizing Nirvana. What is the reason for the purity and purity that follows the meditation and contemplation. Ordinary people who are dull and sects. When counting breaths. Only knowing from one to ten. Make your mind calm. Desire to enter Zen. Receive all kinds of happiness. This is called demonic karma arises in counting breaths. Because of greed for life and death.
multiple times, like a heretic. Seeing that the heart is vigorous. It is a cause and effect. When counting breaths. Not only do you regulate your mind and count your breath. From one to ten. Desire for meditation. You can also distinguish between the present and the present without breath. There is and there is nothing. Neither there is nor non-existent. It is better to go as if you are going. It’s like going, it’s better to go. It’s better to go than to go. The future is boundless. There are boundaries and no boundaries. Neither boundless nor boundless. Now there is permanence, impermanence, now. It is both constant and impermanent. Very, very, very impermanent. And the heart is the same. As you see. Think about it as real. It means what he said. All of them are forgotten. It is a person who cannot escape from the state of rest. Distinguishing arises with false views. It is a joke about counting the breath. Fire on all sides. The place of troubles. I am greedy for evil views for a long time. Create all evil deeds. Eliminate good roots. There has never been no birth. Beyond the mind and practice. Hence it is called heretic. Such two people are dull and sharp. There is no difference between life and death in the three realms.
, what is the name of the number of breath phase of the Śrāvakas? The practitioner wants to leave the three realms quickly. Because I seek Nirvana by myself. Practice and count breaths to adjust the mind. At that time, we will never leave the correct view of the Four Noble Truths in counting breaths. How can we compare to the Madhyamaka , the four true meanings of ? The practitioner knows that the breath depends on the body and the mind. The three things are harmonious. Namely, Yin Realm Entering. Those who enter the Yin Realm. That is suffering. If a person is greedy for the Yin Realm and enters the Dharma. Even follow the heart. Distinguishing the method of entering the Yin Realm. That is, it is called the collection. If you can achieve the true nature. That is, you can know that suffering is not born. Can't afford to suffer four things. The four elements do not arise. Even if it is dull and sharp. All the troubles. Silence cannot arise. Therefore, it is called extinction. Know the suffering and the right wisdom. Can be rational and without obstruction. Therefore, it is called Tao. If you can count breaths like this. Understand the Four Noble Truths. You should know that this person will definitely obtain the Way of the Shravaka. After the past, do not create new things.
, how can you enter the path of Pratyekabuddha in counting breaths? The practitioner seeks natural wisdom. Happy alone and silence. Be well aware of the causes and conditions of all dharmas. When counting breaths. That is, the thought of knowing the breath. That is, there is a branch. Destined to take. Get love. Love is received. Responsive and touched. The six senses of contact. The six sense organs are related to the name and form. Name, form and fate. Know the fate. Actions are caused by ignorance.
Re-view the existence of this breath. It is called good and capable karma. There are good causes and conditions. We will definitely be able to feel the suffering of man and heaven in the future. Due to cause and effect. There must be old age, death, sorrow and distress. Three lifetimes of cause and effect. Life and death are endless. Rotation is endless. There is no life. There is no death. Not good at thinking and doing things. If you know the nature of ignorance. I don't have it myself. Delusional cause and condition. Born in harmony. Because there is nothing. False name ignorance. Ignorance is still the same. It is also unavailable. You should know and practice all kinds of causes and conditions. No root. Since there is no such cause and condition as action. How can there be the reality of the number of breaths now? At that time, the practitioner knew that counting the breath belonged to the cause and condition. Empty and self-nature. Can't stand it. Don’t recite or distinguish. The heart is like void. Silent and motionless. Suddenly, there was no leakage in my heart. The path to Pratyekabuddha.
, what is the name of the Bodhisattva's breath counting form? The practitioner seeks all wisdom. Buddha wisdom. Natural wisdom. No teacher's wisdom. The Tathagata's knowledge and insights are fearless. I have compassion for countless sentient beings. Therefore, practice counting breaths. Desire to enter all kinds of wisdom through this method. What is that? As stated in the scriptures. Anapana. The first door of the Buddhas of the three ages entering the Tao. Therefore, the Bodhisattva who has a new mind. Desire for Buddhist path. You should first adjust your mind and count your breaths. When counting breaths. Knowing that breath is not breath. It's like a illusion. It is not life or death. It is not Nirvana. At that time, it is in the number of breaths. Life and death cannot be eliminated. You cannot enter Nirvana. Therefore, life and death cannot be restrained. Since there is no twenty-five bondage. Don’t attain Nirvana. Then you will not fall into the realm of the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. With equality and great wisdom. That is, there is no intention to choose. The middle way of intake. It is called seeing Buddha nature. Obtain the patience of non-birth. Stay in the great Nirvana and be eternal and self-purity. Therefore, the scriptures say. Like a big water. Can suddenly change everything. Only the willows are removed. Because it is soft. The same is true for the great waters of life and death. A person who can float without all ordinary people.Only Bodhisattvas abide in the Mahayana Nirvana. Because the heart is soft. This is called the Mahayana practitioner entering the Bodhisattva position in counting breaths.
This briefly talks about the wonderful door to counting breaths. The various aspects of ordinary people, Mahayana and Hinayana are the same. Although counting the breaths are completed. It is necessary to understand the different aspects. You should know that although the number of breaths is practiced together. As the consequences go down. I will follow the meditation and contemplation to purify one wonderful door. The common distinction between ordinary people, Mahayana and Hinayana. The same is true.
