Lingyin Temple : Located in present-day Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, it was built in the 3rd year of Emperor Xianhe of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (328 years). The founder was the Indian monk Huili. The well-known monk Jigong was a monk in this temple, and the TV series of that year was also shot in this temple. There is a couplet in front of the temple: How can life be so satisfying? Everything can only be half-satisfied. It tells us the principle of contentment and constant happiness. Today, let’s enjoy five ancient poems related to Lingyin Temple.

1. "Stay in Tianzhu Temple, Send to the Monks of Lingyin Temple" Tang· Zhang Ji

I rested my body towards the Lingxi River at night, and the wind and spring bamboo dew purified my clothes and dust.

The moon is bright and the stone is suitable for sleeping together. It is a person from the south of the mountain and the north of the mountain.

Walk towards Lingxi at night, let this tired body rest here. The wind blows from the mountain springs, the dew on the bamboo leaves washes away the dust on the clothes. The rocks under the bright moon are enough for me to sleep on. Why would I want to go to the south and north of the mountain?

Tianzhu Temple is located at the southern foot of Tianzhu Mountain . There are three temples in total, divided into upper, middle and lower, not far from Lingyin Temple. I stayed overnight at Tianzhu Temple and sent a poem to the monks at Lingyin Temple.

2. "Early Autumn Post to Lingyin Temple in Tianzhu" Tang Dynasty Jia Dao

The temple in front of the peak and behind the peak is in the new autumn, and Wozhou can be seen from the extremely high window.

A person in concentration hears crickets, and a crane hangs a macaque from its perch.

The mountain clock is crossing the empty river at night, and the cold moon is shining on the ancient stone tower.

I recall my failed attempt to hang my sail, and thank you for visiting this place in the past.

Before and after the mountain peak, in Lingyin Temple, there is a new autumn atmosphere. At the top of the mountain, through the window, you can see Wozhou. When people enter samadhi, they hear the chirping of crickets, and see macaques hanging on branches where cranes are perched. The midnight bell rang across the deserted river, and the ancient stone towers on the island gave off a chill under the bright moon. Thinking about hanging sails to save the world, my body cannot be free. Xie Gong also visited this place back then.

Wozhou: the name of the mountain in today's Xinchang County, Shaoxing City. Legend has it that it was the place where famous scholars of the Jin Dynasty went to raise horses and let cranes go; One of the founders of the Chinese landscape poetry school.

In early autumn, the poet came to Lingyin Temple, wrote down what he saw and felt, and inscribed it in the temple. The autumn air is crisp and clear, and Wozhou Mountain can be seen from the highest point of Tianzhu Mountain, indicating that the terrain here is high. In the middle of the night, I heard crickets chirping and macaques hanging on the branches to rest. The lingering sound of the bells passed through the river, and the clear moon shone on the stone tower. If he hadn't been unable to let go of fame and fortune, Mr. Xie would have lived here all the time.

3. "Jiuquanzi" Song Dynasty Pan Lang

has long recalled the Xishan Mountains, three Zhu in front of Lingyin Temple and behind, and used to visit the Cold Spring Pavilion in the past.

When a white ape is seen climbing a tall tree, where does it go when it roars? Don't come here to look at the painting, but you will never see the mountains!

I often recall the sceneries of Xishan. Lingyin Temple, the front and rear of Sanzhu Temple, and the Cold Spring Pavilion are all places I visited in the old days. Here, even in the dog days of summer, it is as cool as autumn. You can often see a white ape climbing up a tall tree, and when you hear a long roar, you don't know where it went. After leaving, I admired the paintings many times and always felt that they were not as beautiful as the real peaks.

Pan Lang lived in the early Northern Song Dynasty and was a legendary person. He originally lived in Bianjing. Because he was suspected of participating in rebellion, he disguised himself as a monk and fled to Hangzhou and Kuaiji. He was later pardoned. This song "Jiuquanzi" is his recollection of his time in Tianzhu Mountain. Since he was pretending to be a monk, temples were a must-see. He had visited Lingyin Temple and the three Tianzhu temples, but he was not here to pursue Zen, but to travel around. The climate here is better than that in the north. It's still cool in the dog days of summer, and you can also watch old apes climbing trees. After I came back, I drew a few paintings based on my memory, but how could the paintings compare with the real scenery?

4. "Walking with Taichong, Biaozhi, and Gongshi on the Evening of April 23rd" Song· Hong Yan

The four mountains stand tall, the fields are wild, and there are people nearby and villages far away.

The original painting is not the pen when he encounters it. What he sees is the poem without words.

Seeing the transplanting rice seedlings, I want to forget to return. The cane quinoa moves to lean on it until dusk.

It is surrounded by towering peaks, with a field in the middle, people living nearby, and mountain villages in the distance. Where the birds fly away, the bells of Lingyin Temple can be heard occasionally; beside the flowers, the gurgling water seems to be the Peach Blossom Spring written by Tao Yuanming . The scenes we encountered on the road were so picturesque, and everything we saw was poetry, which cannot be described with brushes or words. Watching people planting rice can also make me linger. I hold on to my crutches and walk slowly until dusk.

Village (cun): Same as "village". After dinner, I went for a walk in the wild with three friends. It is surrounded by mountains, with fields in the middle, and people living in mountain villages near and far. Where the birds are flying, there are the bells of Lingyin Temple, wild flowers, and flowing water. It is so paradise-like that the author lost track of time and only remembered that he needed to go home at dusk.

5. "Lingyin Temple" Qi Fan of the Qing Dynasty

The staff walked through the old tiger forest, and thousands of pines sang around the deep green screen.

The temple is connected to the sea and the smoke is white in the morning, and the pagoda enters the Cheng Lake and is overcast in the setting sun.

The ape father’s call comes and goes, but the shepherd boy’s song goes away and the sound is forgotten.

I am happy to meet a branch and pick up flowers to show my joy. The spring echoes in my heart.

Leaning on a cane, I walked through Hulin Mountain, where I had been before. Thousands of green pines were like a green barrier, surrounding the temple, and the sound of pine waves and wind could be heard. Lingyin Temple is connected to the sea. A puff of white smoke rises in the morning, the temple tower is reflected into Chenghu Lake, and the setting sun shines in the evening. The old apes in the mountains can understand the sound of chanting scriptures. The shepherd boy sings and leaves, forgetting the noise of the world. I was delighted to encounter the place where branch escapes Nian Hua signal, the spring water roared, answering for me.

Hulin: namely Wulin Mountain ; Bai (bai, four tones): chanting sutras or singing hymns; Zhidun: eminent monk of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. In the morning, the author saw white smoke wandering between the mountains and the sea. At night, the temple tower reflected the setting sun, and waves of pines surrounded the ancient temple. In a place like this, even apes may be infiltrated by Buddhism.
