be happy? How can we be happy? It seems that everyone has had such troubles and doubts. Busy work, stressful life, financial pressure...Everyone is working hard every day, but life does not seem to make us happy or happy. As a result, we began to fall into self-doubt, denial, confusion, and at a loss...
How can we be happy and happy?
Thich Nhat Hanh is a world-renowned monk at home and abroad, and is known as the great virtue of the world. A few years ago, I accidentally read "The Biography of Buddha" written by Thich Nhat Hanh. The book not only tells the biography of the Buddha's life, but the wisdom of life in it is even more enlightening. In the book "Reconciliation with Oneself", Thich Nhat Hanh uses his unpretentious language to explain to us how to reap the joy and happiness of life.
1. First, learn to let go
Thich Nhat Hanh tells us "joy comes from letting go, comes from not worrying". Think about it when we are in joy, our heart is actually in a state of relaxation and release, our body and mind are not burdened with heavy burdens. It’s like climbing a mountain and taking light clothes. We can stop and enjoy the scenery and take photos at will. If we carry a heavy backpack on our body, we will become more and more tired, and I don’t want to go. appreciate.
During the journey of life, we will encounter all kinds of scenery. If we want to own and see every scenery, then this journey of life must be hard and painful. Only by learning to let go can you reap what you really want.
Second, let go of attachment
What is attachment? The reason why we often feel unhappy and unhappy in life is that we are too attached to something. And forget the original heart. With a house, I want to live in a larger and more luxurious house; when I become an official, I want to take a higher position; when I have money, I want to have more money that I can’t spend... However, some persistence often It is an obstacle to joy and happiness.
There is a practice that requires us to write what we want on paper, and then observe deeply to release those that are not needed. In the end, we discover that the money, status, power, etc. that we usually persistently pursue are not The key to happiness is the source of pain and trouble. Learn to let go of attachments in order to release oneself .
Third, learn to reconcile with oneself
Reconciliation with oneself is not just to reconcile with yourself, but to learn to reconcile with others, family and everyone, so as to achieve the goal of reconciliation with oneself. Because each of us does not exist independently in this world, we are connected with many things in the world, including our parents, friends and others.
1. Reconciliation with others : Being angry with others actually brings pain to yourself. At this time, what we need to tell ourselves is that many of the other's habits are not unique to him, and many of them are passed on to him by his ancestors, and he himself cannot recognize and deal with such pain. When compassion arises, anger will be transformed. This kind of realization also allows us to be saved.
2. Reconciliation with family members : Our father or mother will have some behaviors or words that we can't understand. However, we have to tell ourselves that their educational environment does not teach them how to express their emotions. If we blame them again, they will suffer more and they are also an unfortunate person. When we understand the misfortune in a person, our anger will disappear, and naturally, we can also be saved.
3. Reconciliation with everyone : This requires us to cultivate a tolerant heart,A compassionate and kind heart. Everything in the world has its own shape, and they will not change because of someone's point of view. Therefore, we need to adapt to the environment around us, learn to be tolerant, and get along with the world gently. Tolerate everything and save yourself.
Life is a practice, and no one's life goes well. Learn to let go, try not to cling to something, be nice to yourself, try to reconcile with yourself, joy and happiness come naturally.
Life is long and short. May this life practice be fulfilled with you.
