guangdong's marine economy has ranked first in china for 30 consecutive years. in 2024, its marine aquaculture output reached 3.7683 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.47%, recording the fastest growth since 2011. among that, marine fish farming output reached 975,400 tons, accounting for nearly half of the national total. behind these figures are the flagship products from various regions, such as zhuhai's baijiao sea bass, huizhou's golden mi-iuy croakers, yangjiang's oysters, zhanjiang's prawns, and chaozhou's kanpachi.
as one of the first "ambassadors" to xinjiang, baijiao sea bass is a flagship product of modern marine ranches in guangdong. hailing from baijiao town, doumen district, zhuhai, a river estuary, the juveniles are initially reared in fresh water and then transferred to open marine areas for grow-out. the baijiao sea bass, having been exposed to the seawater, develops firmer, fresher, and more flavorful flesh.

廣東海鮮「當日達」鮮活到新疆
9月4日，一批廣東的海鮮搭乘航空快線，飛過5000多公里，當天就到了喀什的海鮮池裡。
廣東海洋經濟已連續30年位列全國第一。2024年，廣東海水養殖產量376.83萬噸、同比增長5.47%，增速創2011年以來新高，其中海水魚養殖產量達97.54萬噸，佔全國產量近一半。這份數據的背後，藏著的正是各地海鮮的明星單品：珠海白蕉海鱸、惠州金鮸魚、陽江生蚝、湛江對蝦、潮州章紅魚……
作為首批前往新疆的「大使」，白蕉海鱸是廣東現代化海洋牧場的明星水產品。它的出生地珠海市斗門區白蕉鎮位於出海口，當地將淡水培育的海鱸幼苗接力到開放海域繼續養殖，經海水咸化後的白蕉海鱸肉質、口感更鮮、更好。
