As we all know, Temu adopts a supplier model, so Temu merchants do not need to be responsible for sending goods to buyers. Therefore, the Temu merchant shipping process discussed in this article today refers to the process of merchants sending goods to Temu domestic warehouses.

Temu merchants have two modes to choose from, one is JIT mode, also called pre-sale mode; the other is VMI mode, which can also be understood as stocking mode. For products under the

JIT mode, merchants need to deliver the products to Temu's Zhaoqing Heyu warehouse within a specified time (2 days) after placing the order. The merchant can deliver the products themselves or by express delivery. This model is the pre-sale model of “order first, ship later”.

Products under the VMI mode require merchants to prepare the goods before they can be put on the shelves for sale. That is, after the merchants prepare the goods and complete the storage, the products will appear on the buyer's front page. When they are out of stock, they will be removed from the shelves. Therefore, the most important thing for merchants under the VMI mode is to do a good job in inventory management to avoid shortages. This model is the stocking model of "prepare goods first, then place orders on shelves".

At present, most merchants choose the VMI mode, because the JIT mode has relatively high timeliness requirements, and JIT products are slower to be reviewed and put on the shelves. In VMI mode, what steps does a merchant generally go through to ship goods into warehouse?

Step 1: Waiting for the first order

When the product completes the price review, picture review and other steps, the product is ready to be put on the shelves, but it is usually in the state of "waiting for the first order", that is, "waiting for the first stocking to be completed". At this time, the merchant can prepare and ship the goods.

Step 2: Packing and shipping

Packing and shipping is actually quite troublesome. There are a few details to pay attention to:

1. Strictly check the quality of each product, because if an SKC is sent and any one of the goods has quality problems, it may cause all the goods of this SKC to be returned, resulting in return losses and affecting the storage time.

2. Packaged goods need to have independent packaging, and the outer packaging of the same SKC or SKU needs to be consistent, otherwise it may be returned.

3. Packaged goods need to be labeled with product name codes and barcodes. This is a relatively detailed task. If there are many SKCs and SKUs, be sure not to make mistakes. Wrong barcodes will be returned and even fined. And if the original product comes with its own barcode, FDA certified , website and address information, all need to be processed and cannot appear.

4. The requested shipment quantity and the actual shipment quantity, including SKU, must all correspond one-to-one. If there is a discrepancy, a fine may be imposed. There are several

5 and Temu warehouses. They should be packaged according to the warehouse assigned when placing the order, and do not mix them together.

6. Different SKUs of the same SKC must also be physically isolated to facilitate warehouse sorting and storage.

7. When assembling a package, if there are multiple SKUs in a box, then you need to affix a delivery note to each SKU, and there is no need to post it on the outside of the box; if there is only one SKU in a box, then just paste the delivery note on the outside of the box.

In fact, there are many things to pay attention to in the packaging and delivery process. I will share with you one by one when I think of more in the future.

Step 3: Express delivery

After packaging, wait for SF Express or ZTO Express to come to collect the goods, and then the express delivery will send the goods to Temu's warehouse.

At this point, the merchant’s delivery is complete. Of course, subsequent merchants can also enter the Temu backend to check the warehousing status.

Regarding Temu's warehouse, , I think there are several places where is rather pitiful, for example:

1. If one batch of goods fails the quality inspection, then these may be returned, but the warehouse returns them in batches, not all at once, which wastes freight and time.

2. If the shipped goods are damaged due to transportation or other reasons, there is no need to return them, they can be destroyed directly. However, there is no such function option in the backend, and the warehouse will return it directly. In this case, we will throw it away if it is returned, which is a waste of return freight.

3. If a piece is lost or damaged during transportation, it is difficult to hold accountable. It is impossible to determine whether it is a problem with the warehouse or the express delivery. The merchant can only suffer the loss.

I believe that many merchants have encountered this: products that have been sent clearly are lost in the end! The warehouse will only tell you that it cannot be found, and the merchant can only bear the loss. It not only loses the goods and freight, but also affects the stocking rhythm and product sales. It is a big loss!
