At a hardware launch conference in Brooklyn on Thursday, Google officially released the long-heated Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones. Interestingly, while emphasizing safety, voice and camera capabilities, the company also briefly demonstrated a health feature on the slideshow—cough and snoring detection. specifically, on the daily bedtime summary screen, the Pixel will be able to display the user's snoring time and the number of coughs during sleep.
Google executive said: "With the user's permission, digital health applications can help you understand sleep quality by analyzing the audio of night cough and snoring, and the relevant data can be processed locally on the Pixel 7."
In late September, App researcher Mishaal Rahman also showed the settings screen of this feature in a tweet before the official release of the Pixel 7. The
screen shows that the cough and snoring detection function only requires the Pixel 7 microphone, without recording or sharing data with anyone.
Reference The statement on the Google Support page. Interested friends can go to the "Bedtime" section of the clock App to enable this feature.
In addition, you can also view the data by moving to the "Settings → Digital Health and Parental Controls → Show Cough and Snoring Activities" page.
As for whether this function is "out of the box" or whether it needs to wait for subsequent updates to be pushed, it is unknown at this time.
