The organization is registered in China and is headquartered in Beijing. The establishment of this organization aims to work with all parties that promote the development of the Internet to build a global Internet shared platform for consultation, cooperation, and intelligence, to promote the international community to adapt to the trends of digitalization, networking, and intelligence, to jointly face security challenges, and to seek common development and well-being. Build a network space community with a shared future . At present, hundreds of institutions, organizations, enterprises and individuals in the Internet field from 6 continents and nearly 20 countries have joined and become initial members.
Since 2014, World Internet Conference (Wuzhen Summit) has been successfully held for eight consecutive years. Every year, more than a thousand representatives from about 80 countries and regions attend the conference. The development of the digital age calls for the World Internet Conference to play a greater role in global Internet development governance. In recent years, international parties have also suggested building the World Internet Conference into an international organization to better assist global Internet development and governance. In this context, Global Mobile Communications Systems Association (GSMA), China National Computer Network Emergency Technology Coordination Center, China Internet Network Information Center , Alibaba (China) Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Tencent Computer Systems Co., Ltd., Six units including Zhejiang Zhijiang Laboratory initiated the establishment of an international organization for the World Internet Conference and established a preparatory group for this purpose.

According to reports, the international organization of the World Internet Conference mainly includes the General Assembly, the Board of Directors, the Secretariat, the High-Level Advisory Committee and the Professional Committee. The General Assembly is the highest authority and is held every five years. Members come from international organizations and leading companies, authoritative institutions, industry organizations and top experts and scholars in the global Internet field. International organizations will adhere to the concept of openness and inclusiveness and welcome and absorb all qualified institutions and individuals who are willing to contribute to global Internet development governance to join. .
In the future, the international organization of the World Internet Conference will undertake new historical missions: First, in order to enhance conceptual consensus, focus on the new challenges and new issues in current cyberspace, adhere to openness and inclusiveness, and better promote the international community to resolve differences and build consensus.
