—The legend of the thousand-year-old county Chapter Qiu The story of the blacksmith ⑤
Listen to me and tell me about Zhangqiu Blacksmith, the legend you don't know
legend, that was in the ninth year of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty (1829 AD), Li Tingqi, a native of Xi'ezhuang Village in Zhangqiu, was named the magistrate of Xincheng, Hebei Province by Emperor Daoguang. As soon as County Magistrate Li took office, he encountered such a case.
There is a gentry in the new city who is extremely powerful in the local area and has always been domineering and domineering. If the past magistrates want to stabilize the local area and complete the taxes of the court, they must rely on his power. I hate him so much in my heart, but I can't help it. On this day, County Magistrate Li had just taken office and was asking for advice on the local situation. The gentry's slave tied up three people and escorted them to the county government to submit an appeal letter. When the magistrate saw that it was a lawsuit for life and a lawsuit filed by a gentry, he did not dare to neglect it and immediately went to court to ask about the case.
The magistrate asked: "Who is your surname, where are you living, and why you hurt your life? Let me tell you one by one!"
The blacksmith's apprentice said that they came here from Zhangqiu, Shandong and made a living by slapping iron everywhere. Recently, at the gentry's village, we made utensils for the gentry. The gentry was harsh and abused. He had sorghum steamed buns for three meals a day, and sand was mixed in the steamed buns. The master of the palms had poor teeth because he was old and said that the woolen bun was too hard and had too bad teeth and could not bite, which was really hard to swallow. So he reasoned with the gentry and asked for improvement of the food, but was beaten by the gentry's slaves. The apprentice was indignant and held a grudge for his master. He fought back with a hammer in anger. He did not want the hammer to take off the handle and flew out. He hit the evil slave and accidentally injured the life of the gentry's slave.
County Magistrate Li thought to himself: It is hateful to be so cruel and vicious in the country gentry, but the person who hurts the death is his slave, and it is also related to human life. According to the Qing law, "killing someone to pay for his life" should be sentenced to death by blacksmith. If this is the case, the blacksmith is indeed wronged, what should we do? While hesitating, a thought flashed through my mind, saying that I have just arrived at the office and have been working hard for a long distance. Now I am going to be the "inmate" in the South Supervision Bureau and will be tried again tomorrow.
After the night, the magistrate ordered the prisoner blacksmith to carry the prisoner in the inner room, explain the friendship between the villagers in detail, and give him a pair of felt shorts so that he can wear it close to his body. The blacksmith knelt down and thanked him. Magistrate Li hurriedly helped him up and said, "Don't be afraid when I pass the court tomorrow, and everything will be decided by the county."
The next day, Magistrate Li scolded the prisoner blacksmith to beat the forty-six boards (with a felt leaning against his body, and he was not injured) and shouted loudly: "I think you are young, I will be exempted from death, and will be exiled to the frontier, and will never return." The gentry thought the sentence was too light and asked the death penalty to pay the family slaves' lives. County Magistrate Li said seriously: "I just took office and killed people. This is not good for the local government. Now, the prisoner is no different from the death of the frontier, and there is no hope of rebirth. Isn't this the best of both worlds?" The gentry asked where the frontier was? Answer: " Longshan (Longshan Village, Zhangqiu) to Hu (Hu) Mountain (the name of Zhangqiu, the two places are about fifty miles apart), there are 18,000, Tangzi Cliff (the name of Zhangqiu Village), ten thousand feet deep, and Motianling (the name of Zhangqiu place) enters the clouds." After hearing this, the gentry thought that such a remote and dangerous place would not return even if he did not die for a while, so he said, "The county magistrate clearly broke the matter."
After the case was closed, the criminal blacksmith was sent to his exile today and immediately put on his shackles. At this time, the blacksmith cried, "My father and mother raise me to be an adult, and I really hope to go out to make money and support my parents. Who would have thought that I could never be filial to my parents in this life?" The tragic crying is heartbreaking. The informed Jie Cha advised: "Master Blacksmith, don't be sad, we'll do it after we send you to Longshan." As he said that, he made a wooden shackle for the blacksmith, removed the iron shackles and walked forward together. I walked all the way at night, slept in the wind and rain, and suffered from hard work. Finally, I came to the shore of the Yellow River , crossed the Yellow River, and came to Jinan. Another day I walked, and entered Longshan Village. Jie Cha said, "We have sent you to Longshan, you can go home by yourself!" The blacksmith said in surprise, "What? Go home? Didn't you go to Longshan Hushan?" Jie Cha told the truth and said that it was the county magistrate who designed to save you.The blacksmith suddenly realized it, burst into tears, turned around and knelt down, bowed north and bowed to the north.
