"After more than 20 years of development, China has made great achievements in the display industry, but the current display industry chain still has the problem of unbalanced development, especially the upstream key core materials and technologies are still hugely different from international outstanding enterprises." Song Yabin told reporters, "The overall self-supply rate of key core materials is still lower than 5%, and high-end core equipment has not achieved technological breakthroughs. Therefore, for the entire display industry, China's biggest opportunity and challenge is in the upstream key equipment and core materials. In the field of display glass, we still have a gap with international competitors, which is both an opportunity and a challenge."
Song Yabin came up with a set of data: In 2021, the shipment area of OLED panels produced in mainland China accounts for 63.3% of the world, but glass substrates account for less than 10%, of which large-size glass substrates account for less than 5%. In 2021, China accounted for 67% of global mobile phone production, but cover glass on mobile phones accounted for only 10%.
"However, as a core raw material supplier of photoelectric display upstream core raw materials, we have mastered the full industrial chain technology from sapphire substrate display chip substrate to OLED modules, and have created an independent and controllable full industrial chain." Song Yabin said, "We will give full play to the cooperation advantages of universities, industry departments, and research institutes, focus on photovoltaics and photovoltaics+, and form an industrial agglomeration effect with the dual carbon strategy through the extension of display glass technology. At the same time, efficiently carry out forward-looking, original and leading research to contribute to the resilience and competitiveness of the display industry chain and supply chain!"
