is the huge date of the meteor shower
Beijing Planetarium experts introduced that among the many meteor showers of large and small in the year, the Orion meteor shower is not big or small in terms of traffic, and is considered a meteor shower with medium traffic. The Orion meteor shower has a very fast meteor, which can reach 66 kilometers per second, which is easier to distinguish.
The active period of Orion meteor shower is very long, starting from October 2 and continuing until early November every year. Meteors belonging to this meteor group may appear in more than a month. Around to October 21, the flow of the Orion meteor shower reached a huge amount, and the maximum zenith flow is expected to be above 20 per hour. The radiation point of the meteor shower is located between Orion and Gemini . It only rises from the eastern horizon after 10 o'clock in the evening, and gradually rises in the second half of the night. It is located directly south before dawn, with the highest horizon. Therefore, the Orion meteor shower is suitable for observation in the middle of the night.
observations are not necessarily limited to the day of October 21
A few days before and after
The weather is sunny and can be observed
1 October 21 is the 26th day of the ninth lunar month. The moon is in Leo, which is a waning moon. The moonlight is darker and has little interference to the observation of meteor showers.
