Chinese researchers discover new additive for better sodium-ion batteries

According to foreign media reports, a group of researchers in China developed N-phenylbis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (PTFSI) as a hard carbon Film-forming additives were tested and found that the material enhanced interphase stability and improved sodium-ion battery capacity retention by 52% after 100 cycles. The study found that adding PTFSI to the hard carbon anode increased the capacity retention of the tested hard carbon/sodium half cells from 0% to 68% after 500 cycles.
