In this issue, Pyeongtaek❁ introduces palladium colloid and the method of extracting palladium from it.
colloidal palladium activation solution is a colloidal solution with atom palladium as the colloidal core. Colloidal palladium is prepared by reacting palladium chloride and reducing agent. Reducing agents include sodium hypophosphite, formaldehyde, ascorbic acid, dimethylamine borane, sodium phosphite, sodium borohydride, hydrazine hydrate and stannous compounds, of which stannous chloride is the most commonly used. The biggest feature of colloidal palladium activation solution is that sensitization and activation are concentrated in one solution and completed simultaneously during the dipping process.

There are two methods of refining palladium: chemical method and physical method:
1. Chemical method: put palladium colloid into dilute nitric acid, heat to 80-90°C to dissolve the palladium colloid, then add sodium hydroxide solution to precipitate the palladium colloid, and finally wash with water to obtain pure palladium.

2. Physical method: Put the palladium colloid into hot water, heat it to 70-80°C to dissolve the palladium colloid, then add activated carbon to adsorb the palladium colloid on the activated carbon, and finally wash it with water to obtain pure palladium.
