As an editor of the former military newspaper, my main experience and feelings are to be willing to use true feelings, pay attention to grasping the "degree", and focus on doing practical things.
See big in "small" and work hard on closeness. The newspaper's positioning of these letters is to solve the problems of grassroots officers and soldiers. In actual work, the "worry" and "difficulties" of grassroots officers and soldiers reflect a lot of "small" problems in daily life, work and family. I have realized that if these "small" problems are not handled and solved well, big problems will arise; for the unit, it is a "small" problem, but for the officers and soldiers, it is a big problem; if these "small" problems are not solved well, it will affect the ideological stability of the officers and soldiers and affect the construction of the army. In other words, these "small" problems are actually not small, and they are all big problems that deserve attention.
During the editing process, I did not mind that it was "small" and worked hard to get close to the grassroots and officers and soldiers. Especially when publishing the special edition of "Voice of Readers", there are two editions per month, with 12 to 15 manuscripts per edition. The most published are the "small things", "small problems" and "small situations" reported by grassroots officers and soldiers. When dealing with it, I was assigned to "Editor's Speak" and published it in small columns and short sections such as "Voice of the Grassroots", "Reminders", and "Hearing and Witnessing". Such as "Leave good meals for officers and soldiers who missed meals", "Veterans should play more with new recruits", "Don't make your own decisions when donating blood", "Don't always give lectures before meals", "How do new and old non-commissioned officers get along with each other? 》《Leaders should return gifts when entering and leaving the camp", etc.
These "small" problems reflected in letters occur around the officers and soldiers. They are very familiar with each other and think they are real, so they are very popular. When editing and publishing such manuscripts, while paying attention to proximity, we must pay attention to universality and guidance. The problems must be new and worth talking about; they must be closely integrated with the situation to make "small problems" and "hot"; while reflecting the problems, we propose solutions, which are certainly feasible. In other words, we remind grassroots leaders not to underestimate these "small problems". We should consider, pay attention to and solve the overall situation that concerns the construction of the troops and stability. Some military leaders sent letters and phone calls saying that after the newspaper came, they would gather a group of people to take the initiative to check the questions and actively find the problems. A leader said on the phone: "If the grassroots leaders read more about the "Voice of Readers" version, they can avoid many detours and reduce many mistakes."
pays attention to objectivity and work hard on authenticity. To put it bluntly, the important role of readers' letters is public opinion supervision. In recent years, criticism and self-criticism have become increasingly difficult. My experience is that if you only have five points to praise someone, it is six points or very good. The person involved said with a smile, "It's past, it's past." Others say "Brave, brag", which cannot cause any major "moment". Criticism reports are not the case. It is very bad. You can't sit still when you say five or six minutes. If there is even a little bit of accuracy, the parties involved and individual leaders of the unit involved will be "very unhappy" at the least, and "very angry" at the worst, or even furious or furious to "provoke a military force to sue" and seize the branches and make a big fuss, and never give up. This means that it is difficult to run a good version of "Voice of Readers" and compile a good reader's letter: it does not have a "gunpowder smell" and cannot play a role, and readers are not satisfied; if the "gunpowder smell" is too big, there will be too much trouble and too much trouble. In the words of a friend: "You are a little editor, and you don't have the power to turn things around, why should you offend others? Where can you afford to offend others?"
I think this is a responsibility.
