When their peace was threatened by the Swallowing Star - the Devourer of the World -, in order to save the mother planet from destruction, Norrin volunteered to serve as the slave of the World's Devourer. The Swallowing Star accepted the request and gave him part of the cosmic power to transform it into the Silver Slider. The cosmic power given by the Swallowing Star is the source of the Silver Slider's abilities, and he can fully control the four basic forces of the universe to achieve any effect he wants; he can absorb, manipulate and release incredible electromagnetic spectrum energy enough to destroy the planet. He can rearrange molecules to create new matter, or change the state of matter, such as turning solid into gas. The silver glider's skin is nearly indestructible, able to withstand extreme pressure and temperatures, can pass through the core of a star, or even a black hole without getting hurt; the surfer is also one of the fastest beings in the universe, able to fly over the speed of light, or travel across time or dimensions, or pull back to the time layer to see the past. He possesses superhuman strength and stamina, and does not require breathing or eating. The enhanced perception of cosmic energy allows him to fully perceive every molecule in the environment, thus knowing the position of a person or detecting the weaknesses of his enemies; superhuman hearing can track, detect force fields and pure form energy concentrations, and discern their essence.
