Robert and Christo, , bought a total of 12 scrapped train cars in the past few years. Up to now, they still live with their children beside a highway in Utah, and make a living by running a "train hotel".
I have also talked to you about the couple’s train home twice before. If nothing else, this is the last time I will talk to you about these small homes transformed from scrapped trains. We will talk about similar ones when we have the opportunity in the future.

12 scrapped train cars were renovated into small dwellings
Let’s first briefly talk about the general situation of these scrapped train dwellings.

The couple now runs the "Cabobo Village" train hotel by themselves, renovating and transforming these train cars into small homes.
- On the side of the highway, there are actually more than 12 carriages. However, the basic decoration and renovation have been completed. Only these 12 carriages can accommodate people. The rest are still under maintenance and decoration.
- At the same time, these 12 scrapped train cars are all complete dwellings, from living rooms and kitchens to bedrooms and bathrooms. They are quite comfortable to live in.
- Of course, there is no need to worry about water and electricity. After all, it is next to the highway, similar to a motel, with both cables and water pipes. Apart from being quite far away from the town, it is quite convenient to live there.
"Breeze" Train Dwelling
Next, let us talk about these Dwellings one by one that were renovated from scrapped train carriages.
Among the 12 train carriages, the most representative one is the "Breeze" we mentioned before. This carriage is about 25 meters long and has the largest indoor space. Speaking of which, it is a house with two bedrooms, two living rooms, one kitchen and two bathrooms.

Although the length is good, the space inside the dwelling is relatively narrow (it is a train after all). As soon as you enter the door, there is an open living room area, which can easily seat six or seven people. Walking further inside, there is a cooking space that integrates the kitchen and dining room.
Robert and his wife retained the windows on the scrapped train car. The windows on the left and right sides also filled the small house with sunlight, and the lighting and ventilation were excellent.
The two bedrooms at the back are also renovated using the original sleeper area, and still retain the sense of age of the old train. Personally, it is quite interesting.
"Union Pacific" Train Dwelling
This Train Dwelling once suffered a fire. It was turned into a Dwelling after the couple carried out thorough reinforcement and renovation. It can be said to be reborn from the ashes.
The carriage was built in 1970 and had been scrapped long ago, but now the interior has been renovated . It has everything from the living room to the bedroom, as well as a small kitchen, which can easily accommodate two people.

Robert and his wife have always kept the interior of the carriage as old as before. It doesn’t look like there are many too gorgeous decorations, but it retains the sense of time from that era. The quaint furniture decoration looks very tasteful.
In this carriage, the living room is still the same as the entrance. The bedrooms are placed in raised positions at the front and rear of the carriage. It has a good sense of space. There is even an open kitchen in the corner and a relatively spacious bathroom.
"West Pacific" train cabin
The space in this car is larger than what we mentioned above.
It was originally a scrapped freight train carriage, an antique from the 1940s. , but after being remodeled into a dwelling, it became a comfortable small home with a larger area than other carriages (except for the Breeze), which is also serviceable.
At the entrance, Robert and his wife installed entry platforms for each of the scrapped carriages, which can be used as open-air balconies outside the road, and also added steps to enter the interior.

Entering the home from the open-air balcony, the living room is on the right hand side. Here, the leather couch and the dining table are matched to create a living space that integrates the living room and the dining room. For a long and narrow car, this layout is more space-saving.
At the end of the living room, two small doors separate the children's room. There are two bunk beds in the house, which can accommodate four children without any problem, making full use of the vertical space.

On the other side of the Westpac, there is an open kitchen and master bedroom. The bathroom is placed on both sides of the corridor connecting the two, which also makes good use of the space. In the
kitchen, L-shaped cabinets are used to store various dishes, tableware, bottles and cans, and various kitchen appliances are also embedded in the cabinets to keep the kitchen countertops clear, looking neat and clean, and the storage details are very good.

The toilet and bathroom in the corridor are actually not very big, but strictly speaking, they are made into a three-separated layout. The toilet is in a small independent space; the washbasin is moved outside and decorated as a double sink; and the bathroom is separated by a sliding door to prevent water from splashing everywhere when taking a bath.
As for the layout of the bedroom, it is relatively simple. There is only a double bed and a high ceiling. It is transparent and comfortable to live in.
"South Pacific" Train Dwelling
Yes, this is another small Dwelling for the Pacific generation.
It is also an old train produced in 1970 and now scrapped. Similarly, it has been renovated into a fully functional small house with a complete living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom.

After entering this small house, you can see the entire house at a glance. Except for the toilet and bathroom in a separate space, separated by door leaves, the bedroom, kitchen, and dining table are all in an open space to avoid the sense of depression caused by too many partitions.
In the bathroom, a glass shower door is also used to separate the wet and dry areas. Coupled with the original window sash to assist ventilation, the small bathroom will not be too humid and has good practicality.
"Great Northern" Train Dwelling
Speaking of this seemingly humble train dwelling, Robert and his wife are quite proud.
It is said that it was once a train with 450 carriages, and this is one of them. The couple repainted its outer shell in a more low-key color, but also retained some traces of time erosion on the exterior wall.

The kitchen is the main space in this small house. L-shaped cabinets are installed in the kitchen, and bar chairs are added to realize the integrated layout of guest, dining and kitchen, which fully saves the insufficient space in the room and makes the layout orderly.
The master bedroom with a double bed and the children's room with bunk beds behind the TV wall are even more eye-catching. Using such a small space to decorate it into two bedrooms and one living room is amazing!
"Unnamed" Train Dwelling
Finally, let's briefly talk about some train Dwellings that have not been decorated.
This unnamed scrap train car is one that her husband Robert is currently renovating. The couple decided to keep its interior in its most original appearance. Maybe it will be decorated in an industrial style?

Also enter this small house from the open-air balcony. You will find that the iron sheets, rust stains and some pipeline equipment on the previous carriages have even been preserved intact, and the interior of the house has only been briefly decorated.
After entering the small house, you can have a clear view of the scene inside the house. The old scene in the carriage is eye-catching, as if you have returned to the past. The equipment room in the middle of
has long been cleared out, and has been replaced by a narrow and cramped bathroom. Although the space is too limited, it is very convenient to use the toilet and wash up after connecting the pipes.

The layout in the bedroom is relatively special. How to say, it is like a platform bed layout, with a wardrobe installed below and the upper bunk used as a bed, connected by a small ladder.
The study room on the other side, with its seats, computers and other equipment, has not yet been sorted out, but it does have the intention of deliberately preserving the scene inside the scrapped carriage.

The space at the end of the scrapped carriage is an open area. The couple plans to make it a living room in the future, but they will not do too many decorations like the dwellings we mentioned earlier.
Oh, by the way, the kitchen is also placed here. Currently, it only implements simple cooking functions through the stove and refrigerator, and no cabinets have been installed yet.
