11-8, 1937——The China Journalists Association established
The full name of the China Journalists Association is All China Journalists Association . The organization is a national mass group composed of journalists and journalists associations in various provinces, cities and autonomous regions across the country, as well as professional journalists associations and other news professional institutions and news practitioners.
The predecessor of the China Journalists Association China Youth News and Journalists Association was established on November 8, 1937 under the direct care of the Party Central Committee and Zhou Enlai. After the establishment of the Youth Journalists Association, it united the vast number of journalists, made outstanding contributions in the struggle for anti-Japanese and democracy, and cultivated and created a large number of outstanding journalists. The activities of the China Youth News and Journalists Association have been persisted until the liberation of the country. In September 1954, the China Youth News and Reporter Association changed its name to the China National Journalists Association. In 1957, the First Congress of Chinese Journalists was held in Beijing and officially announced the establishment of the All-China Journalists Association.

1970-Ni Zhiqin broke the world record for men's high jump
1970 November 8, 1970 at 4:10 pm, my country's outstanding high jump athlete Ni Zhiqin (height 1.84 meters, 28 years old). The 2.29-meter high jump record for men with a 2.28-meter high jump held by Soviet athlete Brumel for many years, and also broke the 2.27-meter high jump record set by himself at the Asian Emerging Forces Games held in Phnom Penh in November 1966.
On the afternoon of November 8, more than 80,000 spectators in Changsha watched the track and field competitions held by the National Track and Field Team and the Hunan and Guangxi Track and Field Teams at the Labor Stadium. At 3 pm, Ni Zhiqin started to jump from 1.98 meters and jumped over heights of 1.98 meters, 2.03 meters, 2.13 meters, 2.18 meters and 2.24 meters. When the cross bar rose to 2.29 meters, the audience recited loudly: "Make up your mind, don't be afraid of sacrifice, overcome all difficulties, and strive for victory." (Mao Zedong's words). During the second trial jump, Ni Zhiqin jumped with a firm and fast pace and successfully crossed the height of 2.29 meters. Suddenly, the audience burst into applause.
For several months, Ni Zhiqin has skipped 2.24 meters and 2.26 meters in Beijing, Jinan, Hefei, Wuhan, Changsha and other places, and has repeatedly hit world records.

November 8, 1993—The first high Reynoldsnorth number wind tunnel was built
1993 On November 8, 1993, my country's first high Reynoldsnorth number transsonic two-dimensional pipe wind tunnel was recently built at the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. This equipment is in an international leading position in the overall level.
high Reynolds number transsonic wind tunnel is an indispensable ground test equipment in the development of aircraft. The main simulation parameters of aircraft aerodynamic tests are flight Mach number and Reynolds number. Although conventional transsonic wind tunnels can simulate Mach number, their Reynolds number is 1-2 orders of magnitude lower than the actual flight value. Since many aerodynamic phenomena in actual flight are very sensitive to changes in Reynolds' numbers, some aircraft designed based on conventional transonic wind tunnel experimental data often have problems. The Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences completed five years to build my country's first high-Reynolds number transsonic two-dimensional pipe wind tunnel, laying a solid technical foundation for my country to study advanced airfoils and build transsonic pipe wind tunnels with higher Reynolds number and larger size.
