My name is Chen Yi, and I am an integrated circuit design engineer. In 2010, I obtained a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from National Ryukyu University in Japan, and since then I have been engaged in the research and development and industrialization of power semiconductor device .

If the integrated circuit system is compared to a person, CPU and CPU and Central Processor are equivalent to his brain. If the brain wants to collect information, it must pass through the eyes, ears, nose, etc. The sensor is equivalent to the human eyes, ears, and nose. If this person wants to move, he needs bones to drive his muscles. The power chip is equivalent to bones, providing kinetic energy for this person.

In China, chips are a typical "bottleneck" field, especially for the integrated circuit industry, the key core technology of chips is a "core disease" that has always been. About six or seven years ago, domestic companies began to focus on independently developing chips, trying to fundamentally solve the dilemma of "chip shortage".

At about the same time, Xiamen has issued a ten-year plan for the development of the integrated circuit industry, striving to exceed 100 billion by 2025. We saw the determination of Xiamen to vigorously develop the integrated circuit industry. So in 2017, I went to Xiamen with my friends to start a business and co-founded Xiamen Xinyi Generation Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd. I served as the technical director and was mainly responsible for chip research and development. Up to now, our company has applied for 66 intellectual property rights of various types, and the chips developed are widely used in various scenarios in people's daily work and life, from fast charging of mobile phones, adapters of computer power supplies, to identity identification, financial security, computer intelligence, etc.

During the five years since I started my business in Xiamen, I have seen Xiamen’s rapid development in the integrated circuit industry. Today, Xiamen has gathered nearly 300 integrated circuit companies, and the industry scale has increased from 10.3 billion yuan in 2016 to 30.88 billion yuan in 2021, a three-fold increase. With the rapid development of Xiamen's integrated circuit industry, my company and I are also growing rapidly: I was selected as the 12th batch of Xiamen's Double Hundred Plan talents in 2019, and in 2021, I was selected as the seventh batch of 100 people plan talents in Fujian Province. Our company was awarded the titles of National High-tech Enterprise , Fujian Province's Digital Economy , and Fujian Province's Technological Small Giant Enterprise.

Not long ago, the first batch of integrated circuit engineering professional junior and intermediate professional title application work in Xiamen was launched. This is a recognition and affirmation for us R&D personnel, and it also has a huge promoting effect on the talent training of integrated circuits. At present, Xiamen's integrated circuit industry has entered the "fast lane" of development. My team and I will also increase the research and development of high-end chips to build a strong "Chinese core" for Xiamen's integrated circuit industry.
