But there are many people who disagree with this statement. The most important reason is that there is a local legend that there was a mackerel princess back then. Of course, there is a more reliable way of saying that in the Qing Dynasty, the bayfish spawned here in the months from May to August, so there were a lot of bayfish. So the fishermen from the six coastal provinces all come here to fish. Over time, a town was formed here. And the place where the local fishermen gather, they call it a circle (quan). People from other provinces who live outside this circle are called "outsiders". Over time, this place became known as the Bayuquan (quan).
