FPSO will adopt SBM Offshore's Fast4Ward design. The main hull of the project is 334.2 meters long, 60 meters wide, and 32.8 meters deep. The empty ship weighs nearly 70,000 tons, has a full-load displacement of more than 460,000 tons, and has an oil storage capacity of up to 2 million barrels, it is a new type of offshore floating production and storage device with the largest tonnage and largest oil storage capacity in the world today. The hull satisfies a wide range of marine environmental conditions in the Gulf of Mexico, West Africa and Brazil. It is not only suitable for oil and gas development operations in various sea areas around the world, but will also greatly reduce the owner's operating costs.
MPF A entered into force on March 1, 2019. Since the start of construction on July 25, although it has experienced severe effects of the new crown epidemic at home and abroad, with the strong support of the shipyard and the ship inspection party, the shipyard’s project team and various departments Thanks to the efficient collaboration and joint efforts of the company, the start-up vehicle was successfully completed this month. Compared with MPF A, MPF B increases the utilization rate of high-strength steel plates through design optimization, and effectively reduces the weight of the empty ship by more than 6% under the premise of keeping the oil storage constant.
It is reported that the owner of this project, SBM Offshore, is an experienced leader in the global floating production system leasing market and the world’s largest FPSO operator. It is responsible for the construction safety, quality management, production preparation, plan management, and progress of the shipyard’s construction of FPSO. There are comprehensive and in-depth requirements for control.
