On this day, after Lin Xianshun conducted a routine inspection, he walked to the side of an F-5E plane that had been refueled, urged everyone not to linger, and said that he wanted to fly the plane.
Two minutes later, Lin Xianshun flew the plane. In less than five minutes or so, he flew into the Taiwan Strait. In order to avoid detection by radar sweeps, Lin Xianshun kept flying the plane close to the sea.
