The standard single-row magazine has a capacity of five or six rounds, and the shape of the magazine is the same regardless of the caliber of the ammunition. On the left is a .308 Winchester calibre magazine, and on the right is a .338 Lapu Amagnan calibre magazine, both have the same dimensions. This kind of magazine has its own "shoulder", which is used to jam the shoulder and prevent the projectile from hitting the inner wall of the magazine under the action of recoil. At the same time, there is still a lot of space in the front of the magazine, making it one of the easiest to use "VLD" ammunition on the market.
I bought the SRS A2 because I wanted to install a .300 PRC (6.5 PRC on the left and right) barrels, and use it as an ELR rifle. The .300 PRC has a free hole diameter of .308 inches, so the longer VLD ammunition will not deflect before being inserted into the rifling. The biggest problem with the .300 PRC ammunition is that the total length (OAL) of the ammunition reaches 94mm, which is longer than the .300 Winchester Magnum, and most magazines are designed around the latter OAL.

Some people may think it is a bit small, but ELR shooting is not about fast or large shots. The magazine latch is on the left side for easy thumb operation. Note that there is an adjustable height-adjustable cheek plate at the back of SRS A2 to ensure the most suitable aiming and shooting posture.
The supportless design brings advantages and disadvantages. When the barrel length is 26 inches (660mm), the overall length is still controlled at 37 inches (940mm), which is 10 inches (254mm) shorter than the conventional rifle. Due to the supportless structure, the distance between the scope and the muzzle is closer, which means that the target can be seen only through a shorter barrel, which reduces the influence of the hot air emitted by the barrel on the line of sight. When shooting SRS A2, the hottest part of the barrel is behind the scope lens, which naturally avoids this kind of problem and also improves the aiming speed.
Compared with the original A1, the most significant change of A2 is the weight reduction of 953 grams. A longitudinal groove is added to the barrel, which is the part that reduces the most weight. At the same time, some processing parts on the side are removed and some internal structures are reduced. Although these methods will not bring obvious weight reduction effects, they do have their effects. Compared with the handguard with Picatinny rail on the top of the A1, the A2 handguard is all M-LOK interfaces, which not only makes the weight lighter, but also facilitates disassembly. Users can choose between 13 inches (330mm) or 7 inches (178mm) handguards.
Some people may think that a shorter handguard is more convenientCarrying, this is actually a misunderstanding, because the bipod needs to be installed on the handguard, and the closer the bipod is to the muzzle, the better the accuracy. In some complex tasks, there may be accidental launching of collisions. A longer handguard is a measure to protect the barrel. The most attractive thing about SRS A2 is that it can quickly replace barrels of different calibers, and can ensure shooting accuracy after replacement. The most important thing is that this system is the cheapest of similar products that can be changed in the market. To replace the barrel, first use a hexagonal wrench to open the barrel locking device on the left side of the receiver.
Then pull the bolt back to stop the bolt at the rear, loosen the four bolts on the right side of the receiver, and remove the barrel without removing it. After installing the barrel, reverse the operation and the job of replacing the barrel is completed. It only takes two minutes.
The disassembled barrel, you can see that there is a longer part connected to the receiver, and the outside of the barrel is divided into two parts, the rear part is thicker, and the front part is thinner. There are deep grooves on the outside. The SRS A2 empty gun weighs 4.31 kg (6.5 Creedmore caliber). The most controversial improvement of A2 is to replace the easily adjustable trigger unit of A1 with an adjustable trigger unit with a trigger force of 6.7 to 31 N. However, the gun body needs to be removed when the new trigger unit needs to be adjusted, so it is more troublesome.
A few months ago, I bought this rifle and I have always liked shooting with it. No matter whether it is prone position, bipod, or tripod, there is no weakness. The flat bottom of the butt can be erected on the bean bag. As long as it is equipped with a good bipod, there is no problem with stability. Although it is not a light shotgun, the A2 can be shot easily. Most of the rifle's weight is close to the shooter's shoulder, making the operation more comfortable. Due to the non-support structure, the magazine is close to the shoulder, and the aiming posture needs to be changed to change the magazine. Of course, for this kind of rifle that has almost no requirement on the rate of fire, it is not a disadvantage.
In the accuracy test, the Leupold Mark 5 7-35x56mm sight was installed, the 6.5 Creedmore caliber ammunition was used, and the distance was 100 yards (91.4 meters). Group five rounds, a total of five groups, take the average. The best accuracy is the Sigsauer 140 grain competition ammunition, the best is 0.39 MOA, and the average reaches 0.58 MOA.
