In December 2019, a comrade of the old unit chief transferred to the capital city of the Central Plains Province. That year, his city had a total of 357 demobilized soldiers. According to the proportion, only about 40 of these soldiers could be placed in municipal units, and the remaining 300 meant that they had to be selected for positions in districts or enterprises. According to this ratio, it must be quite impressive to be able to join the municipal government, and the city government sounds very high-end. Wherever I go, I can proudly say that I work in a certain bureau system. After working for for several years, I realized that what I was doing was immature and I didn't understand the local departments at all. To put it bluntly, it was a typical "selling sesame oil without knowing how fragrant it is."
I remember that at that time, many comrades who had transferred to another job in the same batch often discussed together, such topics as municipal government and not district government, district government and street office, public institutions and not corporate units, etc. In fact, this understanding is wrong. After all, in our year, the company had two tobacco bureau quotas. Is it that the welfare benefits of the tobacco bureau are not as good as those of municipal public institutions? Now it seems that my original choice was too naive. If I could choose another position, according to my term, I would choose the Tobacco Bureau directly without hesitation. is tough because of the money. Without money, even if you are in a certain committee, your quality of life will not improve.
When we changed jobs, we were like headless flies, flying around with our heads down. We did whatever our relatives at home said. Their perception was that the bigger the government office, the better the work unit. In the year of , the comrades at the bottom of the rankings were silently praying that they could miss the market leader. The comrades directly became a competitive relationship, and no one communicated with the other, forming a "people's heart is alienated from the belly phenomenon". They were afraid that the person in front would choose their desired position, and everyone would go their own way. Looking back now, it seems childish. The comrade of the old stock manager got his wish. Even though his ranking was not very high, he actually missed the municipal housing management bureau.

A few days ago, the old stock manager went to work and met his comrades. At noon, the two of us found a small restaurant and sat down together to have a long chat. The comrades complained deeply, claiming that the city government was really not as good as the district government or sub-district office. Their usual jobs were doing odd jobs, helping leaders deliver materials, working as a driver, and copying materials or printing things in the printing room. The work he was doing was boring and very clingy; he didn't give him a chance to be lazy and playful, because there were only two people in his office, so it was impossible to be lazy. Now, apart from working hard, there is nothing else to think about. There is no opportunity to directly hire senior workers directly in the city; because the city where we are located has set up a proficiency period for the job. No matter how many years of military service there are, the three-year job proficiency period cannot be less at all.

At this point, many comrades must ask the old stock leaders, if the municipal units are not good, then what kind of units are good units? Based on the veteran unit chief's understanding of the positions of retired noncommissioned officers, the resettlement positions (soldiers) provided across the country are nothing but useless. There are only a handful of high-quality positions, and based on our ranking, there is no chance of being selected. For comrades in the lower ranks of , good positions are like "stars", elusive. So what exactly counts as a good position? The following is an example from the veteran stock manager.
1. You have to deal with people, so such a position has certain "rights"; 2. The higher the yamen door, the less valuable the demobilized soldiers will be after entering; 3. Although the grassroots units are busy, they are small and well-organized, and the functions are comprehensive; 4. The law enforcement and inspection departments have relatively real power, but the number of positions is very small. So, after the demobilized soldiers choose to be resettled, is there really no future for them? This is not necessarily true. There are many comrades who know how to choose positions. Only those comrades who like to be vain and have a false reputation may not be able to choose their favorite positions even if they are ranked high. Often those comrades with a peaceful mind and a mid-level ranking can really choose good units.

Dear comrades, although the position is good or bad, although it is very important, there are many positions that sound bad, but are very "affordable". After the reform of public institutions, administrative titles have been removed. Names with words such as center, station, and affairs have become the general trend. Therefore, when selecting a position, we must clearly understand the nature and scope of work of the proposed unit. Often the powers of municipal public institutions are very single, and most municipal public institutions mainly provide public welfare services. We demobilized soldiers always think of going to a "real power unit" to be successful.
