Xu Xinjian, Han nationality, born in June 1955, from Hongya County, Sichuan Province, joined the army in December 1975. During his lifetime, he was the deputy political instructor of the Aktao Brigade of the Border Defense Detachment of the Xinjiang Public Security Border Defense Corps. On April 5, 1990, he died in the fight against the riot in Baren Township, Aktao County, Xinjiang at the age of 35. On April 19, 1990, he was named a revolutionary martyr. On June 5 of the same year, the Political Department of the People's Armed Police Force awarded Xu Xinjian the honorary title of "Border Guardian".

At that moment, the thug holding a wooden stick knocked Xu Xinjian to the ground and raised a sharp knife to stab him in the chest and abdomen. During the cruel behavior of the thugs, Xu Xinjian and three officers and soldiers died heroically.
