On the morning of November 27, the Shenzhou 15 manned flight mission conducted joint training throughout the region and airtight inspection of the entire system. The rocket, spacecraft and launch site systems were in good condition and all preparations before rocket recharge have been completed.
The Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center of the same day ushered in a low temperature with wind and snow, and the maximum temperature dropped below zero. This is the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center once again carried out the spacecraft launch mission in severe winter weather after the launch mission of Shenzhou 4 in . The low-temperature environment has an adverse impact on the performance of gas supply and non-standard tower equipment outdoors, which increases the difficulty of ensuring air conditioning for flight products such as spacecraft and rockets, and also puts energy supply systems such as power supply and distribution in the launch site facing severe tests.
To this end, launch site deeply analyzes and identifies risks and hidden dangers from four aspects: technology, management, quality and operation, formulates prevention and control measures and emergency plan , and carries out special equipment review, operation inspection and emergency response drills.
Affected by snowfall and low temperatures, the activity work platform responsible for protecting the rocket has also ushered in a severe test. The platform commander Liu Yang led the post personnel to block the windows and platforms on the launch tower, prevent rain, keep warm, and other tasks that are conducive to the heating of the air conditioning system to ensure the rocket's requirements for ambient temperature. Staff of the meteorological room of
Center are also stepping up meteorological monitoring and meteorological consultation in the past two days. In order to make the forecast results more accurate, the weather forecasters have started from multiple parties to take the weather at any time and anywhere through weather equipment such as wind and cloud satellites, air balloons, and Doppler radars to provide timely and accurate meteorological forecasts for the scientific decision-making of the mission command center.
"We have made special technical preparations for the meteorological factors that can affect the launch in the past 40 years, and summarized the ground winds greater than 10 meters/second, high-altitude winds greater than 60 meters/second, and low temperatures below minus 20 degrees." Li Xingdong, chief meteorological forecasting expert at the launch site, said.
After the Shenzhou No. 15 ship-arrow assembly arrived at the launch area, it completed the function inspection and matching inspection of the spacecraft and rockets, organized a launch drill for the entire system, and subsequently carried out rocket propellant refueling and launching according to the procedures.
"In view of the characteristics of this low-temperature launch, the launch site systems continue to conduct re-examination of facilities and equipment status. We are prepared, confident and capable of completing this launch mission." said Wang Xuewu, deputy director of Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.
