We have shooting tasks against the enemy almost every day in the middle and late stages of participating in the war, and sometimes we have to shoot several times a day. Sometimes when I was having a meal, as soon as the shooting order arrived, I immediately put down my bowl and rushed to the cannon position to shoot. We just went to the position and saw that we were so close to the enemy. We put the cannons there shakyly, and it would be strange if we didn’t get bombed! I immediately realized that there was a lot of danger and was ready to destroy the cannon. The shells don’t have eyes, where does it fall? Who did it blow it up? There were two more times that almost killed my life. The mines on the front line of Laoshan are as numerous as yam eggs all over the mountains, and they are everywhere. It is best not to go to places that others have not walked before, otherwise life will be in danger.
There is a small hill on the back between the second and fifth gun positions. The vegetation is quite lush, all of them are shrubs, and there is a small path in the middle. When two soldiers of the fifth artillery squad passed there, they accidentally discovered a mine at the root of the bush, and a very thin steel wire was pulled across the path. I heard them shouting and immediately went over to see, a rusty tripped iron thunder lying there quietly.
I looked at Lei and broke out in a cold sweat, it was too dangerous! Isn’t this place a small path I ran back and forth a few days ago? I heard the pheasant screaming in this hill, so I came over to fight the pheasant with a Type 81 fully automatic rifle, hoping to improve the food for the hard-working soldiers. If you tripped on this mine at that time, you would be missing your arms and legs even if you didn't die.
This mine may have been set by which unit in the past to prevent enemy agents from attacking, or it may have been set by enemy agents, who want to kill our military personnel. We have no experience in demining . After receiving our report, the brigade sent engineers to detonate the mine.
Another time was on the way to the camp forward to the observation center. I dare not fully confirm the two newly discovered enemy targets, and I wanted to go to the battalion to observe and observe carefully.
Battalion Forward Observation Station is not far from our second artillery position, and you can see it in the artillery position, but if you walk too far along the road, it will take more than 3 hours to get there. The company will take three days to arrive for the cart delivered to our artillery positions and battalions. I decided to go straight to the battalion and observe the site, so I led a soldier, brought a gun and grenade and set off. There was no road, so we walked along the approximate direction.
