1948, the War of Liberation has entered its third year, and the situation in the country has undergone major changes. With the development, the gap between our army and the enemy has become very small. Especially Northeast region , Northeast Field Army firmly occupy the upper hand and besieged the enemy in several isolated cities such as Changchun, Shenyang, and Jinzhou .

In September of this year, the Northeast Field Army concentrated 12 columns, 1 artillery column, and 17 independent divisions to launch an attack on Jinzhou, thus opening the prelude to Liaoshen Battle . Seeing that Jinzhou was besieged, Wei Lihuang had to send him out Liao Yaoxiang and let him lead the army westward to rescue Jinzhou. At the same time, Liang Xingchu, commander of the 10th Column, commanded the 10th Column, the 3rd Division, the 6th Column (under the 17th Division), and the 2nd Liaonan Independent Division lies on the front line of Xinmin , Heishan, and Zhangwu , waiting for the arrival of the enemy.
Originally, Liang Xingchu wanted to send a small group of troops to attract the enemy to the Raoyang River area, and then gather to annihilate it. But Liao Yaoxiang was a long-standing battle. Not only did he not be deceived, he led his army to turn around and attack north and occupied Zhangwu in one fell swoop. Zhangwu was located on the supply line behind the Raoyang River. Liao Yaoxiang's sudden attack caused the supply line of the 28th Division of the 10th Column to be cut off. He had to give up the Raoyang River defense line, withdraw from the Muyangdianzi area, and confront the enemy's new 1st army through the Raoyang River. Faced with the continuous attack of the enemy, Liang Xingchu took the opportunity to let the 10th Column fight and retreat, and gradually lured the enemy to the areas of Heishan and Dahushan.
After Liao Yaoxiang's struggle, the direction of Jinzhou could no longer hold on. On October 15, Jinzhou was captured, and the Northeast Field Army decided to take advantage of the victory to pursue Liao Yaoxiang's army and annihilate Liaoxi's army in the western Liaoning area. At that time, the enemy in Changchun had revolted, and Shenyang had become an isolated city. Liao Yaoxiang would probably concentrate his efforts to break westward so as to take the opportunity to escape back to Guanzhong . If you want to annihilate Liao Yaoxiang, you must have to firmly block the enemy's attack on Heishan and Dahushan.

Dahu Mountain is a swamp on the south side, a natural barrier that large troops cannot pass through. However, Yiwulu Mountain in the north is dangerous and has a steep slope. There is no road. It is only suitable for a few people to walk. The enemy's cars and cannons cannot pass. This determines that if the enemy wants to break through here, they can only choose an area of about 25 kilometers from the edge of the swamp to Shiligangzi, northwest of Heishan. After consideration, Liang Xingchu decided to deploy his troops on strategic areas such as Dahu Mountain and Heishan 90-101 Heights.
Liao Yaoxiang on the other side is already leading his army westward. Since the 10th Column has focused all its efforts to defend the line of Montenegro, the enemy has not encountered any obstacles along the way and has conquered a lot of territory in succession. Not only did Liao Yaoxiang not relax, but instead was extremely nervous and felt that the future was bleak. In fact, he didn't want to move west so quickly, but his superiors repeatedly ordered him to break through from Jinzhou, which made him have to bite the bullet and move westward. However, Liao Yaoxiang was also careful. While delaying time, he kept looking for excuses to go south to Yingkou . However, whether he is going to Jinzhou or Yingkou, he must pass through Heishan.
On October 23, Ren Qingshan, a scout of the 3rd Platoon of the 28th Division who was operating outside, caught an enemy. After interrogation, Liang Xingchu realized that the enemy was the communication squad leader of the 88th Division of the 71st Army and was ordered to go to the regiments to convey combat orders. Unexpectedly, he had just left the division headquarters and was caught by Ren Qingshan. From this prisoner, Liang Xingchu got an important news, that is, the enemy indeed planned to capture Heishan and Dahu Mountain, and then met with the enemy west of Jinzhou and retreated to Guanzhong. The enemy's 88th Division, 207th Division and other units are not far from Black Mountain, so they are preparing to launch an attack today.

In the afternoon of that day, the 272nd Regiment of the 91st Division of the enemy's 71st Army launched an attack on the Jianzishan position, officially kicking off the battle. The 7th Company of the 3rd Battalion of the 82nd Regiment, which guarded the Jianzi Mountain position, fought back and killed the enemy. In the following day, the 28th Division's regiments fought against the enemy one after another. Although the enemy repeatedly attacked, they were unable to move forward. The most intense battle here is the highlands in the east of the city.
City East Highland consists of 92Highlands, 101Highlands, etc., and their strategic location is very important and is also a key area for the enemy's attack. Starting from the morning of October 24, the enemy launched three attacks on the 101 Highlands, all of which were repelled by the 2nd Battalion of the 84th Regiment. At 12 noon, the enemy launched a fierce attack again under the cover of four bombers and cannons. After so long battle, most of the fortifications on the 101 Highlands have been destroyed, and the 4th Company and 6th Company of the 2nd Battalion also suffered heavy casualties, especially on the 4th Company's position, only six people including instructor Liu Baoshan were left.
In this attack, Liu Baoshan and others used up all their ammunition, and they were outnumbered and died heroically on the position. After the 4th Company's position was lost, the 2nd Battalion could no longer defend the 101 position. At 16:00 p.m. that day, the 101 position was lost, and the 62.8 highland to the north was also captured by the enemy. He Qingji, the commander of the 28th Division, knew the importance of the 101 Highland, so he quickly ordered the commander of the 82nd Regiment, Lu Chicheng, to organize the 1st Battalion to launch a counterattack on the 101 Highland.

At 17:30 pm that day, the Artillery Regiment of the 10th Column and the Artillery Battalion of the 28th Division concentrated more than 40 cannons and violently bombarded the 101 Highland. The enemy was repairing the fortifications, but was immediately frustrated by shells. Subsequently, Lu Chicheng personally led the 1st Battalion of the 82nd Regiment and the 5th Company of the 2nd Battalion of the 84th Regiment, and divided the troops into three groups to launch a counterattack on the 101 Highland. In this counterattack, the 1st Company of the 1st Battalion of the 82nd Regiment was one of the main attacking forces. Under the leadership of the company commander Ni Enshan, they rushed to the 101 Highland.
When the enemy saw that the situation was wrong, they also began to block the road with artillery fire, hoping to block the attacking troops. While advancing, a shell landed near Ni Enshan, causing him to be unfortunately injured and fell asleep on the spot. Everyone must not be able to throw Ni Enshan halfway like this, so they sent someone to send him back to the rear, while the others continued to move towards the 101 Highland.
I don’t know how long it has passed, but Ni Enshan finally woke up. He just woke up and realized that something was wrong. He was obviously on the way to charge, but why did he return to bed in a blink of an eye, as if he was dreaming before. But Ni Enshan knew that he was not dreaming. He sat up and looked around, and was shocked: "Why am I here?" It turned out that Ni Enshan discovered that he had actually returned to the camp bandage site, and the wounds on his body had been bandaged.

Ni Enshan looked at the sky and found that he had not been in a coma for long, and the counterattack troops were still attacking the 101 Highland. He couldn't sit still for a moment and was about to return to the front line immediately. The injuries on his body were not light, and the doctor refused to agree to him returning to the front line, allowing him to stay in the camp to recover with peace of mind. But the mission has not been completed now, and all his troops are fighting to the death on the front line. How could Ni Enshan still wait? He simply took advantage of the doctor's inattention and ran out secretly and returned to the front line.
At this time, the 1st Company had already attacked twice in a row, but they were both beaten back by the enemy. After Ni Enshan returned, he immediately led the troops to launch the third charge. When the soldiers of the 1st Company saw that the company commander came back with injuries, they were all moved. Under Ni Enshan's leadership, they moved forward all the way and finally rushed to the 101 Highland. After half an hour of fierce battle, the 1st company successfully regained the 101 Highland. Then, the 1st Battalion took advantage of the victory and took back the 62.8 highland. In this way, the high ground that the enemy took a day to capture was snatched back by our army.
