Zhang Rongxiong, born on the top of the iron mountain, is 40 years old this year. His parents are both authentic farmers. He has never been to school for a day and can only work hard to support his three children on a few acres of land.
When Zhang Rongxiong was a child, his cousin who went out to work bought a color TV. In that era of material scarcity, this was a rare object. After a whole day of busy work, Zhang Rongxiong ran to his cousin's house with his job to join in the fun.
"Nineteen years old, I was full of military flavor, and I won the championship in the training ground for assassination and fighting assessment..." The villagers mainly make a living by planting economic crops such as tobacco, rice, and corn, and can only rely on "God's appreciation for food."
Most young and strong laborers in Gonghe Village have no choice but to go out all year round to find a way out, and those who stay at home are the elderly and children. Zhang Rongxiong often helps everyone do things within their ability. After a while, Zhang Rongxiong became a trustworthy young man in the hearts of his hometown.
Zhang Rongxiong realized that if his hometown cannot escape the constraints of slash-and-burn farming and mud fields, the villagers will not be able to live a good life. To build his hometown, developing industries is the key.
Two years after joining the party, Zhang Rongxiong was elected as the village director of Gonghe Village. He understood that to build his hometown, developing industries is the key. The test results showed that Gonghe Village is suitable for growing kiwis.
In 2017, kiwifruits in Zhijiang, Hunan landed on the top of the subway mountain. Kiwi seedlings absorb nutrients from more than 600 acres of land in Gonghe Village and grew vigorously. "Watching the kiwifruit grows well, I decided to expand the scale again. "In March 2020, Zhang Rongxiong took the lead in establishing the Tieshanding Agricultural Development Professional Cooperative, planting 600 acres of kiwi fruit, absorbing 5 people to find stable employment for a long time.
According to the model of "collective economy + company + farmer", the kiwi fruit planting base in Gonghe Village invested in 71 poor households and 271 people in the village, and led more than 70 home workers in Gonghe, Miaoping and other villages to work nearby.
" Last year, kiwi fruit first started to bear fruit, with a yield of 800 to 1,000 kilograms per mu, and a yield of about 5,000 yuan per mu. "Zhang Rongxiong said that considering the storage problem of kiwi fruit, Gonghe Village has also built a new cold storage to extend the shelf life of the product. After nine years of storms, the villagers of Gonghe Village worked hard on this barren hillside, putting green on the sleeping barren hills in the past, and built this orchard that embodies the dream of increasing income and becoming rich by the villagers in the village.
