Pidingjun is a legendary general in the history of the People's Army. He is both wise and brave, and he is as good as a god.
Especially in Central Plains Breakthrough in 1946, he led his troops to fight for 24 days, fought 23 times in all sizes, and fought thousands of miles in Hubei, Henan and Anhui. Under the heavy encirclement of the Kuomintang, he fought a bloody road and successfully arrived at the Liberated Area of Jiangsu and Anhui.

pi Dingjun was born in poverty, his father died early since childhood, and his mother remarried and had to let the cow go after dinner. Therefore, he had a natural relationship with our soldiers who were also from the bottom of the class.
On the way to Long March , the most difficult and long stage was passing through the grass . One night, Pi Dingjun checked the night as usual and found a little soldier without a quilt and curled up next to the pile of soil. After asking, he realized that he had lost his backpack.
Pi Dingjun didn't say a word and took his quilt over and covered the little soldier's body. The little soldier was very ill and whispered that he was almost out of reach, so don't freeze the leader.
Pi Dingjun said seriously: "Where does the leader come from without a soldier?" said that, he lay beside him, covered the two people with a quilt, and barely spent the night.

Although the young soldier had already died when he woke up the next morning, Pi Dingjun still took off his military cap and bowed to him. This scene moved everyone present.
In the Central Plains breakout, the First Brigade led by Pi Dingjun was able to break out of the encirclement in the rain of bullets. In addition to excellent tactical command, the support of the officers and soldiers was also a very important factor.
Commander of the First Column, Wang Shusheng, issued an order to Pi Dingjun in front of him, asking him to disguise himself as the main force and cover Central Plains Military Region to break through the west, and must hold the enemy for three days.

Three days after the original plan to block the attack, Pi Dingjun held a military meeting and decided to disrupt the enemy's deployment with a counterattack, and then take the opportunity to move. God came to help, and it started to rain heavily. The enemy thought that such bad weather could not be taken, but Pi Dingjun called at this time. After defeating the enemy in front of him, Pi Dingjun commanded his troops to quickly evacuate, and went around west and south, hiding in a remote mountain village, and resting.
The enemy was moving not far away. Many soldiers were very worried and discussed in private. Pi Dingjun stood up to comfort him and promised everyone that there would be no problems. When the enemy continued to chase west, Pi Brigade immediately set off and turned around to the east through Dabie Mountains , and finally reached the Jiangsu-Anhui Liberated Area.
Strengthen discipline and revolution is invincible. Pi Dingjun's amazing action has completely preserved more than 5,000 people. It is impossible to do without the discipline of orders.
Discipline is not as simple as opening your mouth to speak, but the soldiers trust and rely on them with conscientious hearts. After entering the liberated area of Jiangsu and Anhui, it was adapted into the 13th Brigade of the Central China Field Army, and soon ushered in another fierce battle. The extremely arrogant Kuomintang reorganized the 74th Division tried to strategically release Lianshui, an important town in the liberated area, to cut off the connection between Central China Field Army and Shandong Field Army , and then defeated them one by one.

Unfortunately, in 1976, Pi Dingjun was taking an helicopter to Dongshan Island to observe the military exercises on site, but the plane crashed due to a mechanical failure. He died heroically at the age of 62.
