938 was a tense period of the Anti-Japanese War, with social unrest and panic. Ordinary people stayed in their doors all day long to avoid war. Chen Erjin, a senior Kuomintang officer, found that his newlywed wife Wang Manxia was acting abnormally.
As a military wife, Wang Manxia frequently goes out of the Kuomintang upper class, and with good conversation and communication skills, she has accumulated reputation and connections in a short period of time. But the problem is that when Wang Manxia went out, she never allowed the guards and servants to accompany her, and she was very tough in refusing, and she often went home in the middle of the night.
Chen Erjin is busy with official duties and is often not by his wife. He didn't notice anything at first, but he still became suspicious after a long time. His instinctive reaction was: his wife might have cheated. Even though he was so angry that Chen Erjin still pretended to be calm on the surface, but secretly sent his confidant to secretly follow his wife Wang Manxia.

But gradually, he found that things were not that simple. After following them several times, Chen Erjin's confidant was quietly thrown away. At this time, he realized that his wife had a strong anti-detection ability and immediately became confused. The wife he learned was a wealthy daughter who had been living a wealthy family since childhood. How could he easily get rid of a man who had received precise military training? This made him even more suspicious.
Finally one day, Chen Erjin got the opportunity to reveal the secret. On this day, Wang Manxia, dressed up, went out on the pretext of playing cards with her sisters, and told her husband in advance that she might come back later. After his wife went out, Chen Erjin followed quietly. He carefully followed his wife out of the city and found that his wife turned around and turned into a hidden dilapidated building.
The truth is right in front of him, and his heart is in his throat. But after waiting for a long time, he did not appear as he imagined. On the contrary, several young men and women went in one after another, as if they were attending some secret gathering. Chen Erjin is a top student who graduated from the Whampoa Military Academy. He has worked within the Kuomintang for many years. With rich experience, he had a vague answer in his heart when he saw his wife's mysterious actions.
Since the Anti-Japanese War to the founding of New China , countless Communist Party members have led the way and made continuous efforts. Chen Erjin and Wang Manxia are outstanding underground front workers of our party.
911, Chen Erjin was born in a family of officials in Shanxi. My father was a military officer in the Qing Dynasty, and my grandfather was a professor at , Shanxi University, and her grandfather. Since childhood, Chen Erjin was highly expected by his family, and his parents hoped that he would become a scientist who worked for the country. But Chen Erjin had no interest in the scientific dream that his grandfather pursued and had long made up his mind to join the army to save the country.
929, Chen Erjin joined the army and applied for the Whampoa Military Academy, and was successfully admitted to the eighth artillery department. During his time at school, Chen Erjin stood out and stayed at school after graduation, and happened to be the instructor of Chiang Kai-shek's son. Therefore, Chiang Kai-shek attached great importance to Chen Erjin and even directly transferred him to Nanjing to serve as an attendant and captain of the military police team of the Presidential Office.

But power failed to retain Chen Erjin, he still had a heart to defend his country.
937, Chen Erjin led the anti-aircraft artillery brigade to the battlefield and made countless contributions.
A rare talent like him soon attracted Zhou Enlai's attention. Unlike other senior Kuomintang generals, Chen Erjin is a rare clear stream of mixed fish and dragons.
He doesn't care whether he can make a fortune. Although he is a high-ranking official, he lives frugal and generous. In order to fight against Japan, he often donated money and materials, and was an unforgettable and passionate patriotic young man. Chen Erjin followed Chiang Kai-shek and always hoped that Chiang Kai-shek could take action on the road of fighting against Japan and saving the country. However, Chiang Kai-shek was under the banner of anti-Japanese war, but secretly colluded with the Japanese, eroded the Communist Party's anti-Japanese armed forces, and actively resisted the war, and was inseparable from the Japanese invaders.
Zhou Enlai, who had an insight into Chen Erjin's thoughts, hoped that he could abandon the darkness and turn to the light as soon as possible, so the young Wang Manxia took on the important task of instigating Chen Erjin.
Wang Manxia was born in an Anhui family with a wealthy family but not spoiled. She has always been a very ambitious girl.
html joined the Communist Youth League at the age of 118 and participated in revolutionary activities. In 1936, Wang Manxia, who had graduated from university for two years, passed the test of the party organization and officially became a glorious Communist Party member. Under the influence of the political environment at that time, combined with the complexity of Wang Manxia's own social identity, she was arranged to the hidden front and became a red agent led by Zhou Enlai.
1 In early 1938, Wang Manxia received a secret order: go to Changsha to invade the top leaders of the Kuomintang. When meeting with Zhou Enlai, Wang Manxia opened the file handed over by Zhou Enlai, and a young and handsome photo appeared in front of her. Zhou Enlai said slowly: "The person in the photo is Chen Erjin, who is a senior Kuomintang officer and Chiang Kai-shek's confidant. Our party needs young and promising talents very much. Your first task is to actively win him into our camp." Wang Manxia firmly obeyed the tasks issued by the organization of
, and she had no choice but to take her luggage and arrive in Changsha. Shortly after arriving in Changsha, Wang Manxia quickly entered the top leadership of the Kuomintang with her identity as a businessman and outstanding communication skills. At that time, the encounter with Chen Erjin was only one opportunity. Finally, the Kuomintang Officers Club held a dance party, giving her the opportunity to approach the target person. The brief communication at the dance made both of them feel good about each other. Chen Erjin is an officer with justice and patriotic passion, and Wang Manxia is a rich daughter with a refined temperament and extraordinary conversation. Chen Erjin quickly pursued Wang Manxia, but their identities bothered Wang Manxia very much: Chen Erjin was a senior official of the Kuomintang, and he was an underground worker.
How can we get along well with each other in a tit-for-tat relationship? This has become a problem facing their love. After much thought, Wang Manxia decided to report to the organization. Unexpectedly, Zhou Enlai quickly agreed to the marriage and said, "You can fall in love with him, but you must bring him into our Communist camp."
In May of the same year, the two held a grand wedding in Changsha, Hunan. Wang Manxia firmly believes that Chen Erjin is righteous and is only used by the Kuomintang. In time, under her influence, her husband will definitely be moved, abandon the darkness and turn to the light, and throw himself into the embrace of the Communist Party.
After marriage, with the identity of an officer's wife, Wang Manxia's intelligence collection work was carried out more smoothly, like a fish in water. The place where information exchanged with other underground workers was placed in a abandoned building outside the city. Wang Manxia often went there alone on the grounds of playing cards. Even though she was careful, her husband was very concerned about her abnormal behavior of going out alone and returning late.
At first, he thought his wife had someone else outside. After several times of training, he failed to follow him, Chen Erjin followed his wife after taking action again. So he saw his wife and several young men and women entering a hidden building outside the city. On that day, Wang Manxia only returned home in the early morning. What surprised her was that her husband, who should have been waiting at home, was nowhere to be seen.
When he felt strange, Chen Erjin pushed the door from outside and walked in. As soon as Chen Erjin entered the door, he seriously asked his wife where she was and said that he discovered the trajectory of her movement. Wang Manxia knew that this moment was still coming, and she was unwilling to escape. She said righteously: "I am not trying to hide it deliberately. Actually, I am a Communist Party member. I just went to join the organization. Since you have seen it, I will give you two ways now. Either go to report me, I won't blame you; or we will divorce and never meet again."

Chen Erjin didn't expect his wife to be so honest. When he learned the truth, he was furious: "Where are you putting me?" This made him fall into extreme entanglement and pain.
That night, he tossed and turned, and couldn't fall asleep. Chen Erjin didn't expect his wife to be so honest. When he learned the truth, he was furious: "Where are you putting me?" This made him fall into extreme entanglement and pain.
That night, he tossed and turned, and couldn't fall asleep. After that, perhaps because of the tacit understanding between the couple, Chen Erjin had not talked about this in detail with Wang Manxia, but since when, there were a few red books on the table that were strictly forbidden to read.
Because his wife said to him, "You don't need to express your opinion for now. I know that you will find it difficult to accept this matter for a while. If you want, you can learn about some of the works of the Communist Party. You can express your opinions at that time." What Chen Erjin did not expect was that these red books gave him a new understanding of the Communist Party, which almost opened the door to a new world for him.
While studying " Communist Manifesto ", Chen Erjin also thought a lot. He thought of the Kuomintang that he was loyal to was "passively anti-Japanese and actively anti-communist" and couldn't help but be confused. Can the Kuomintang, which is internally corrupt and rich, really save China from dire straits?
Immediately afterwards, he thought of his wife, a knowledgeable "girl girl" with a good life experience. In order to fight against Japan and save the country and the righteousness of the nation and the country, he devoted himself to the revolutionary cause, and went all alone into the "tiger's den" without fearing the difficulties and obstacles ahead, but just for the firm revolutionary belief in his heart. Compared to other officials who are immersed in the card table, how admirable his wife is!
After several nights of tossing and turning and gaining a deeper understanding of the Communist Party, Chen Erjin was no longer confused and hesitant. He began to tell his wife some important internal information "inadvertently" and Wang Manxia tacitly told her and passed the information to the intelligence personnel of the party organization at the poker table.
At the same time, Wang Manxia was also surprised to find that under her influence, her husband couldn't put down red books and gradually gained a clearer understanding of our party's policies and Marxism-Leninism. It was obvious that he had moved closer to the party organization camp. Wang Manxia knew that it was time for Chen Erjin to meet Zhou Enlai.
So, under the leadership of Wang Manxia, the couple met with Zhou Enlai secretly in the name of travel. Because Chen Erjin and Zhou Enlai were both from the Whampoa Military Academy, Zhou Enlai was a person Chen Erjin had admired for a long time. During this meeting, Chen Erjin was impressed by Zhou Enlai's demeanor, deepened his understanding of the Communist Party and strengthened his determination to do things for the Communist Party.
1939, Chen Erjin secretly joined the Communist Party and since then he became a communist with firm beliefs. Wang Manxia finally completed the task of "pulling him into the Communist camp" given to her by Zhou Enlai at that time. At that time, the couple wanted to go to Yan'an together to participate in the anti-Japanese struggle behind enemy lines, but Zhou Enlai insisted on letting the two lurk in the Kuomintang and obtain important information for the cause of the party organization.
The couple began a ten-year lurking career. During this period, Chen Erjin and his wife had several cute children. With their special identities and a large number of personal resources, they provided the Communist Party with a lot of extremely favorable intelligence and made important contributions to our country's revolutionary cause.
After the full-scale war of resistance entered a stalemate stage, Chiang Kai-shek started one wave after another of anti-communist waves. In 1941, the Kuomintang ignored the national justice and launched the "Southern Anhui Incident", pointing its gun at its own people, causing heavy losses to our army.
Chen Erjin also completely saw through the essence of the Kuomintang at this time and finally realized that the anti-Japanese and national salvation goal was no longer their original intention. They ignored the overall situation and tried to destroy the anti-Japanese national united front, just to maintain and sustain their rule. So, Chen Erjin sent his younger brother to Yan'an. Under his influence, the sixth and eighth brothers successively participated in the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army.
In addition, Chen Erjin used his connections to clear up his relationships and transported arms to the New Fourth Army fighting on the front line. However, with the unremitting efforts of many revolutionaries, the full-scale war of resistance finally won, and the whole country cheered for it, something that Chen Erjin did not expect happened: the Kuomintang reactionaries led by Chiang Kai-shek insisted on launching the civil war with the support of the United States.
For a moment, student uprisings in Shanghai broke out one after another, but they were brutally suppressed by the Kuomintang authorities. In the early days of the Liberation War, the People's Liberation Army faced fatal difficulties in lacking weapons and ammunition. At the same time, Chen Erjin's younger brother, who served as instructor in the New Fourth Army, also told him that the New Fourth Army's arms reserves were not ideal. The couple saw the difficulties of the People's Liberation Army in their eyes and were anxious.
Perhaps it was a chance that God gave Chen Erjin. It happened that the Kuomintang rule was extremely corrupt at that time, and military pay was deducted from it at all levels, and it was common for soldiers to steal and sell military supplies. Chen Erjin simply took advantage of his identity to secretly acquire and sell weapons. The money required to steal and sell weapons is not a small amount.
So he first used various methods to raise money, including all the industries left by his ancestors, and finally exchanged them for 70 gold bars to buy arms. Afterwards, Chen Erjin cleared up all the relationships at all levels and transported all the arms to the liberated area.
1949, "The wind and rain in Zhongshan are yellow, and millions of troops cross the river." The People's Liberation Army broke through the Kuomintang's defense line in one fell swoop, and liberated Nanjing. As Shanghai approached, Chen Erjin, then deputy commander-in-chief of Lieutenant General and chief of staff, proposed a feasible rebellion plan to the organization.
This plan has been approved by the organization and is being carried out step by step. At this moment, a traitor appeared in the Shanghai underground party. On May 9 of the same year, Wang Manxia and their youngest son Chen Guanning, who was less than one year old, were arrested by spies.
Chen Erjin, who was performing a mission outside, heard the news, urgently hid at the home of a guard at the dock, but the spy went to surround him and shouted: "The people inside came out to surrender quickly, otherwise they would blow up the house here."
Chen Erjin is agile and has a very accurate marksmanship. It is not difficult to escape, but he threw the gun and walked out calmly, saying: "One person does things and one person, don't hurt innocent people." Then, Chen Erjin was arrested, and his military character was really touching.
In order to ask Chen Erjin for more information and secrets of our party from his mouth, Shanghai Police Chief Mao Sen personally interrogated him. He pretended to say, "You know the rules set by Mr. Jiang. As long as he is a student of Huangpu , he will not kill him. If you explain it well, there will be no problem." Chen Erjin sneered at this, his face was full of disdain, and did not reveal any information from the organization from the beginning to the end.
On the other side, the enemy tortured Wang Manxia, who was pregnant, and said to Wang Manxia arrogantly: "As long as you are willing to surrender, we will definitely give you and your husband freedom." Faced with the enemy's coercion and temptation, Wang Manxia was as silent as her husband and adhered to the bottom line of the Communists.
htmlOn May 19, the People's Liberation Army made a concerted effort to break through the outer defense line of Shanghai, and key members of the Kuomintang fled out of Shanghai and headed for Taiwan. Before Chiang Kai-shek withdrew from Shanghai, he cruelly issued an order: to execute underground party members such as Chen Erjin and Wang Manxia.
In the end, a total of fourteen underground party members, including them, were shot dead by the enemy. What is heartbreaking is that Wang Manxia was 6 months pregnant at that time... Fortunately, their youngest son was later rescued by the organization. On the day when Chen Erjin and his wife died, it was only 8 days before Shanghai was liberated...
After the liberation of Shanghai, the organization instructed the martyrs to be buried again. After the founding of New China, Chairman Mao issued a martyr's certificate to the children of Chen Erjin and his wife, and wrote four words - Immortality. Chen Guanning, the youngest son of Chen Erjin and his wife, joined the army when he was 16 years old and went to the Xinjiang border to defend his territory. Later, Chen Guanning's son also wore military uniforms at the age of 18 and became a navy.
