Research Huaihai Battle . The strategic vision of the great man Mao Zedong and the control of the situation are indeed accurate. I admire it! OK, let me talk about this.
The Huaihai Campaign began operations on November 6, 1948 as scheduled, and the Huaye and the Central Field troops launched an attack on the enemy on the evening of November 8.
Seven days later, on November 13, Mao Zedong drafted a telegram to Liu Chen Deng and Su Chen Zhang on behalf of the Central Military Commission, and the telegram pointed out that "After Huang Baitao and Sun Yuanliang were raped, it is estimated that Chiang Kai-shek would have to quickly order Qiu Li to break through, and the direction of the breakthrough must be Tai, Fu or Bo, Wo, Yong, where Huang Wei is located."

Mao Zedong's above telegram shows these two meanings;
1. After Huang Botao's corps was annihilated, the Kuomintang Xuzhou "Suppression Headquarters" would not stick to Xuzhou and would give up Xuzhou to evacuate.
2, Qiu Qingquan , Li Mi's regiment retreat was in the southwest part of Xuzhou. Specifically, it is Tai, Fu or Bo, Wo and Yong areas. (See picture 2) The battle process of
is indeed not as expected by the great man.
Huang Baitao's Corps was completely wiped out by Huaye on November 22, 1948. Du Yuming recalled; "On November 22, after Huang Botao's Corps was completely wiped out, Liu Zhi found me to his office and said he planned to give up Xuzhou and retreat westward."

On November 28, 1948, Liu Zhi and Du Yuming were summoned to Nanjing by Chiang Kai-shek for an operational meeting. The meeting decided to give up Xuzhou. The Du Yuming group retreated to the southwest of Xuzhou, that is, to retreat from Xuzhou to Bozhou, Woyang and Yongcheng areas.
In the end, with the cooperation of the Central Plains Field Army, East China Field Army surrounded the Du Yuming Group in the Yongcheng area southwest of Xuzhou, and finally wiped out about 300,000 people from the Du Yuming Group, including Qiu Qingquan and Li Mi Corps.
