Foreword
Anyone who is familiar with modern history knows that the "Tashan Blockade" was one of the most difficult battles fought in the history of our army. This battle was ultimately successful because of one person who played a big role. He said that he It is no exaggeration to say that he is a great hero. He is Wu Kehua, who has the title of "Tashan Hero".
Wu Kehua was born in Geyang County in 1913, and his family conditions were very ordinary. At that time, the social situation was relatively turbulent. He saw the suffering of the masses and saw many families separated from their wives.
For this reason, a fire arose in his heart to save the masses. As he grew older, he deeply realized that revolution is the only way out. So, he embarked on the road of revolution and decided to do something.

In 1928, the Geheng riot occurred, and the leader was Fang Zhimin. After the riot, the 10th Red Army was formed, and then a military academy appeared. When Wu Kehua learned the news, he immediately entered the school to study. There were not many such opportunities, and he believed that he must seize them. Only by seizing the opportunity can he learn skills and lay the foundation for future enemies.
When he first entered the military academy, Wu Kehua's performance was average, and sometimes he was even lagging behind, and he was often scolded by the instructors. It is understood that one time Wu Kehua lost the gun he was training with. The instructor was so angry that he didn't know what to say and thought about expelling him.
In a military academy, throwing away firearms is an unforgivable thing. After all, firearms are the foundation of a soldier. Being without firearms is like a chef without a knife.
After Fang Zhimin learned about this, he called Wu Kehua to his side and scolded him severely. Wu Kehua reviewed the mistakes he made and learned lessons. At that time, the revolution was at a time when people were employed, so he was not fired.
Later in the training, Wu Kehua began to change. He practiced more and learned more than others. Soon, Wu Kehua stood out in the army and became a role model. The school noticed his change, and in order to encourage him, he was appointed captain. In fact, the school does this to inspire other students. Only by working together can the road to revolution become easier.

After becoming the captain, Wu Kehua did not dare to relax and treated things more cautiously and seriously, and made many military exploits.
Later, Wu Kehua became the backbone of the 10th Red Army. He followed the army to participate in the Long March and experienced counter-encirclement and suppression campaigns. After the Long March, he was sent by the organization to Hong Kong University for further studies. The organization saw hope in him.
In 1948, at the critical moment of the Liberation War, Wu Kehua served as the deputy commander of the Shandong Column Detachment, and later became the column commander, mainly responsible for the Tashan position.
Tashan is a very important and strategic place. From here you can directly enter the Liaoshen Plain. Once there is a problem here, our army will be passive.
The situation at that time was like this. The garrison in Jinzhou had been surrounded by General Dong Ye. In order to save the garrison in Jinzhou, Chiang Kai-shek personally went to Shenyang and mobilized 5 troops for support. At that time, the development situation of the national army itself was not good. It would be even harder to lose Jinzhou, so we also sent the navy and air force and spent a lot of money.
Regarding Chiang Kai-shek's troop formation, Dongye issued an order that the four columns must guard Tashan and not let the enemy pass by. Once the enemies join together, everything done before will be in vain.
In the early morning of October 10, the Kuomintang sent four divisions to storm the Tashan position. Behind the four divisions, there were aircraft, warships, and artillery cover. In terms of firepower alone, our army is simply incomparable. After the battle, both sides suffered heavy losses.

Soon, the two sides began to compete for the position, and no one was allowed to occupy it. The fighting at that time was very fierce and full of blood.
After six days of fighting, the four columns successfully completed their mission without letting the enemy pass by.This is a feat. You must know that the enemy's military strength is four times that of our People's Liberation Army, and it also has strong firepower support.
In the Tashan Blockade, our army wiped out more than 6,000 enemies in total, buying time for Jinzhou. It is precisely because Wu Kehua commanded this battle that he became the "Tashan Hero".
Of course, strictly speaking, everyone who fights desperately is a hero.
After the founding of New China, Wu Kehua successively served as deputy commander of the Corps and commander of the naval military region. When he participated in the first major promotion, he obtained the rank of lieutenant general, which was very remarkable.
One day in 1980, Wu Kehua met Ye Shuai, and Ye Shuai said something like this - "You are really incredible. You have served as commanders of all five military regions, and the number of times you have been commanders has reached 16 times. It's really good." Commander contractor! "
In February 1987, Wu Kehua passed away forever. Before he died, he left his last words to bury his ashes in Tashan to be with those warriors who died.
Conclusion
Although Wu Kehua has left us for many years, his deeds will not be erased and will be passed down from generation to generation.
