The Chinese military disclosed the details of the scene: At 8 a.m., the Chinese and Vietnamese joint patrol ship formations sailed to the assembly position respectively. After using international waterways to communicate and exchange greetings, they formed a double horizontal team and began to cross along the China-Vietnam maritime boundary line in the Beibu Gulf. patrol. During the joint patrol, the naval formations of both sides strengthened information sharing and informed each other of information elements such as hydrometeorology , sea and air conditions, formation heading and speed in the patrol waters. In order to improve the command procedures of the joint patrol organization and strengthen maritime cooperation capabilities, the two sides also changed the command relationship and implemented alternate command.
After more than two hours of joint patrol, China and Vietnam organized a joint search and rescue drill. After the
drill began, the two sides joined forces with the patrol ship to release dummies at their respective throwing points to simulate the crew members of the distressed fishing vessel falling into the water, and then exchanged and shared the location, distress situation and meteorological conditions of the distressed fishing vessel. After obtaining relevant information, the joint patrol fleets of both parties set off at high speed to the target area for search and rescue. During this period, the officers and soldiers of the ship continued to strengthen their observation of the sea. After discovering the target, they immediately launched rescue operations and proactively informed each other of the search and rescue results.
It is understood that this joint patrol is the 32nd joint patrol since China and Vietnam signed the "China-Vietnam Navy Joint Patrol Agreement in the Beibu Gulf" in 2005. In the early stage, the two sides actively strengthened communication and organized joint patrol plan docking, laying a solid foundation for the smooth execution of maritime tasks. On the basis of regular joint patrols, the naval vessels of the two countries will also conduct exercises focusing on communication exercises, formation movements and other subjects.
