
The Australian Immigration Bureau recently released a project report on immigration visas for in fiscal years 21-22, with a time span from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.

21-22 overall immigration situation
In the fiscal year 2021-22, the Australian Immigration Bureau issued a total of 143,556 permanent immigration quotas, including: 89,063 skilled immigration quotas, 51,288 family reunion quotas, as well as 3,006 children quotas and 199 special quotas.
Although according to the Australian Immigration Bureau's budget in the last fiscal year, the quota ratio for skilled immigrants and family reunion immigrants accounted for 50% each, judging from the actual number of distributions, the proportion of skilled immigrants is much higher.

Regarding the allocation of new immigrants in Australia, among which NSW, Victoria and Queensland are the top three most popular states for immigrants, followed by Western Australia and South Australia.
Below is the distribution of new immigrant population in each state in the fiscal year 2021-22: NSW: 44,940; Victoria: 36,168; Queensland: 18,591; Western Australia: 13,937; South Australia: 11,763; Tasmania: 5,312; Capital Territory: 4,039; Northern Territory: 2,611.

Immigration Plan Report also lists the allocation of countries of immigrant population, among which India ranks first, with 24,324 applicants. More than 80% of Indian applicants choose the skilled immigration category. The second and third-ranked countries of Australian immigration are China and the United Kingdom, with 18,240 and 9,584 applicants respectively, and the proportion of skilled immigration and family reunion immigration categories is about 50-60%.

21-22 fiscal year
2021-22 fiscal year total number of Australian immigration applications 185,030, an increase of 17.1% from the total number of fiscal year 20-21, and most of the increased applications are applications after the opening of Australia's borders. Among the technical quotas issued in the last fiscal year of
, the number of domestic approvals accounted for 59,355, and the number of overseas approvals accounted for 29,708. Due to the impact of the epidemic, most visa approvals in the last fiscal year were still concentrated in Australia, and overseas quotas will increase significantly in this fiscal year.
The majority of overseas applicants in the last fiscal year were investment immigration and GTI applicants, followed by temporary residence visas in remote areas containing 491 and 494. The majority of domestic applicants are the employer guaranteed immigration and state guaranteed permanent skilled immigration.

The quota for Australian immigration in this fiscal year has increased from 160,000 to 195,000, and the quota for 189 and states has increased significantly, and the investment immigration quota has decreased. The simpler investment immigration quota decreases, which means that Australia will gradually increase the difficulty of applying for immigration.
