Immigration to Portugal mainly has two reasons for me. At first, my parents didn’t understand because they felt that life in China was already very good, so why did they have to immigrate abroad? And it seems that I took them with me, but they don’t know how to speak abroad. If I were not here, how could I communicate with others outside? What's more, my living habits are very different, how can I adapt? Anyway, they talked for a long time, but I blocked their mouths with my work. After I got it done, I didn’t decide to go to Portugal with me for a long time. Later, I felt that I was not very relieved to be alone abroad, so the two old men came to see me together and lived there for a month. It was this month that they had a big change!
First of all, my parents enjoyed the climate and the people here. Although my parents do not speak Portuguese , when they are outside, everyone who sees them will patiently interpret it, which makes them a little flattered! After a long time, they adapted and felt that the people here were really easy to get along with, and there was no sense of estrangement, and they would not feel out of place just because they were foreigners. This feeling is very good!
Secondly, my parents found that after they had the identity, they could enjoy quite good welfare benefits in Portugal. The elderly have some minor problems after all. They can enjoy medical services here for free, and the quality of the medical treatment is quite good. Even if they don’t go to public hospitals, they can apply for a private doctor directly here.
Now I still have a small amount of investment in Portugal, and of course the house I buy here is also an investment. As long as you don’t care about material things, you can enjoy the most perfect life in Portugal. Now my parents not only don’t understand me, but now they have lived in Portugal for a long time. On the one hand, they are with me, and on the other hand, they are also fully enjoying the life here. They are more willing to stay here for vacation than me, especially in winter!
