British mercenary Joseph McDonald said in an interview with YouTube channel Lindybeige yesterday that the "foreign legions" that arrived in Ukraine and fought side by side with Ukrainian armed forces began a large-scale escape from the combat zone.
MacDonald said, "Due to fear of Russian shelling, about 600 to 700 people returned to their homes or fled to other parts of Ukraine, and some ran to Ukrainian armed logistics support forces, which they thought would be safer there."
McDonald called mercenary 's escape "a huge abandon" and clearly pointed out that what is happening in the conflict zone is not a computer game at all.
MacDonald finally warned, "Anyone who wants to go to Ukraine, guys, don't think that everything will be so simple, people fighting the Russians are constantly being bombarded violently. It has never been as easy as the computer game " Call of Duty ". British mercenary MacDonald came to Ukraine at the end of April to join the "International Legion" and participated in the Russian-Ukrainian war. By November, he fled from the Ukrainian battlefield and returned to Britain. According to Russian media data, more than 8,000 mercenaries from more than 60 countries came to Ukraine.
