According to the Indian Express on October 14, an Indian student was robbed on the street in Sydney, Australia. After being refused, the student was stabbed in many places in the face, chest and abdomen.

Australia's New South Wales Police Department said the incident occurred at around 10:30 pm on October 6. Shubum, a 28-year-old student in India, was walking along the Pacific Expressway at the time. A strange man suddenly approached Shubum and threatened him to pay the cash, but Shubum refused. The man held up the knife and stabbed Shubum in the abdomen several times, then ran away.
After being injured, Shubum went to a nearby family for help, and the family called the police. After arriving, Shubum was taken to the hospital, and he was stabbed in multiple areas of his face, chest and abdomen after being examined.
On the afternoon of October 9, local police found 27-year-old Daniel Norwood in a house on the Pacific Highway. Daniel Norwood is charged with one count of attempted murder for the stabbing incident.
It is reported that Shubum has undergone surgery and is currently out of danger of life. The Indian Consulate in Sydney has provided him with consular assistance.
