Tiao Zini’s Elk Army is out again!
In the Tiaozini Wetland in summer
"encounter" a group of elk
foraging for food and playing in the water on the tidal flat, very leisurely
When the tide is high
the sound of hoofbeats of the deer can be heard, and the deer are walking on the waves
ran hard to the high ground in the distance
Wherever it passes, waves jump and roll
The elk's strong muscles are washed away by the tide. Vigorous vitality

Tiaozini Wetland has been successfully included in the World Heritage List as the core area of China’s Yellow (Bohai) Sea Migratory Bird Sanctuary (Phase 1). In recent years, Tiaozini Wetland has carried out a series of ecological restoration projects such as ecological reconstruction, assisted regeneration, natural restoration, and protection and conservation to restore the wetland ecosystem to a greater extent, better exert the ecological functions of the ecosystem, and build a human-friendly environment. A new model of harmonious coexistence with nature, wetland protection and sustainable development.
The good ecology, rich aquatic food, and an environment that is not easily disturbed by crowds have made the elk population, which has always had high survival requirements, choose Tiaozini. According to observation statistics, more than 50 elk were born in Tiaozini this year, and more than 400 elk have settled in Tiaozini, where they live and breed.

In recent years, Tiaozini Wetland has established a collaborative mechanism, established a Tiaozini Wetland Service Center, established a regular bay patrol management team, installed networked monitoring facilities, and jointly implemented irregular night patrols with the public security and border defense departments. Civil defense +Technical defense” grid management. The Tiaozini Bird Lovers Association was established, introducing ecological protection professionals and bird lovers, and joining the "Spoon-billed Sandpiper Conservation Alliance" led by the Mangrove Foundation, setting up a secretariat along the coast of Dongtai , and organizing regular training activities. Give full play to the leading role of "government + alliance + association + volunteers".
At the same time, in order to improve the scientific nature of wetland protection and park construction, in 2019, the Coastal Zone Management Committee cooperated with Fudan University to establish the Dongtai Fudan Wetland Protection Joint Innovation Center, and established a joint innovation center with Beijing Forestry University and the Mangrove Foundation. Long-term cooperative relationship, established the Dongtai Research Base of the East Asian-Australasian Migratory Bird Migration Research Center of Beijing Forestry University, signed the "Cooperation Agreement on Jiangsu Yancheng Tiaozini Public Welfare Protection Area Project", carried out special research on wetland protection, bird migration and other topics, and scientifically implemented wetland ecology Restoration project, regular bird survey work. In 2021, cooperation between Tiaozini and universities will be further strengthened, with Beijing Forestry University’s School of Ecology and Nature Conservation teaching, research and employment practice base, Nanjing University School of Geography and Marine Sciences Tiaozini Field Practice Teaching Base, Yangzhou University School of Horticulture and Plant Protection Tiaozini industry-university-research bases have been listed one after another.
The ecological environment that elk rely on for survival is getting better and better
The number of elk settling here is expected to continue to grow
Deers are singing, fish are leaping and birds are flying,
The ecology is good, and everything in the wetland is alive!
