Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabiri announced that from today on, those people who are preparing to go abroad will no longer need to apply for a cross-border pass (MyTravelPass) from the Immigration Bureau.

"The government decided to cancel MyTravelpass, so people who want to go abroad, including those who travel abroad and perform unofficial activities, do not need to apply for My Travelpass." However, he emphasized that those who go abroad need to complete vaccination, and at the same time, they still need to undergo mandatory quarantine when they return from abroad.

Ismail Sabiri pointed out that the government allows people to visit all countries abroad, but as of now, Malaysia has not yet opened up for foreign tourists to enter. "We are discussing the policy of (foreign travelers entering) and hope to make relevant announcements in the near future."

"But at present, Malaysia is still not open to allow foreigners to enter, except for those who need to deal with emergency accidents, perform official affairs and commercial activities. We are still not open to allow passengers to enter." He said the Ministry of Health is conducting an assessment to implement the "Tourism Bubble" plan.
