Materials Science and Engineering disciplines are aimed at the major national strategic needs of national equipment manufacturing, new materials and regional economic and social development. esophageal cancer related research has reached the international advanced level
The first affiliated hospital of the school, with Professor Gaosheguan as the subject leader, is dedicated to the exploration and mechanism research of bridged molecules related to inflammation and esophageal cancer, and has made many original discoveries and breakthrough progress in the above fields: the first time P. gingivalis (Pg) infection is discovered to be the main pathogenic factor of esophageal cancer. After the publication, the paper was cited 96 times by top journals such as Nature Review, "The Yearbook of the New York Academy of Sciences" and the United States NIH/NCI. The 2018 annual report specifically evaluated that the research results were the first in the international field; the Gaoshegan team then isolated the primary strain of Pg, drew the Pg genome map, and further clarified the carcinogenic mechanism of Pg by constructing a mouse model of esophageal cancer induced by Pg; the team also developed a Pg rapid nucleic acid detection system and antibacterial peptide , nanoenzyme and esophageal organoid chips targeting Pg, and promoted and applied in high-incidence areas, significantly improving the precise warning screening and prevention effects of high-risk esophageal cancer people. All of the above studies are original results of the etiology of esophageal cancer, opening up new research fields and directions for Level I prevention of esophageal cancer.First Affiliated Hospital Oncology Direction has won 17 National Natural Science Foundations, 8 Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards, 510 National Invention Patents, and 5142 SCI papers. It has provincial key laboratories for "tumor epigenetics" and "microecology and esophageal cancer prevention and treatment", tumor molecular biology laboratory, academician workstation and postdoctoral workstation. It is also the chairman of the Esophageal Expert Committee of the Oncology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and the Esophageal Cancer Professional Committee of the Henan Anti-Cancer Association.
